Hi Nathaniel, welcome to DDO!

As others have expressed here, DDO is a complex game. DDO has one of the most intricate character customization systems out there, and as a result it's very difficult (and incorrect) to pigeonhole classes into a particular role. If you look around the forums, and in particular the build section, you'll find many builds that would not be possible in another game, and go against some of the traditional ideas of what a class can and can't do.

I also recommend you read over Tihocan's Builds for new players post. Tichocan does a very good job explaining why he made some of the choices he did, and you can definitely learn a lot from this experienced player.

We appreciate your desire to contribute to the community by making guides like this, and encourage you to make more. Before you do so, it may be in your best interest though to get a little more experience playing the game to truly understand just how deep DDO is.

I reported Tarrant's post.  Reason: Discouraging new player participation.

And of course I had to say I was doing it in the thread.

I saved some of it.  I kind of don't think what I got is Vault worthy though.  Next time I'll know to save it before I do any posting.

I feel kind of bad now. I googled the user name. It is an actual 11 yo kid. Prolly not a good idea to use your real name as a user name.

Why do you feel bad?  If our education system isn't teaching kids how to stfu and learn then someone has to!

That is actually a good point.

I read his blog and apparently he had an experience with an UFO that broke his camera phone.

That is fucking PRICELESS.  I wonder if this kid eats the entire box of crayons for lunch, or he just snacks on them.

Also, I tossed some chum in the water in one of his "guide" threads.  I think we can get this thing up to Vault standards yet.

He definitely is licking the windows on the short yellow bus during his ride home from school!

BTW - My work is sending me down to San Antonio for training next week.

Now that is fucking priceless. I checked out the incredible shrinking thread with the original 25 or so posts before the butchering began. Didn't see anything too bad in there, lots of tongue biting actually. To bad the mods can't let the noobs hear the truth, even the "G" rated truth. Pathetic as always. Wonder where the kid's parents are? Oh well, hug the next noob you see!

Turbine is a company, not your friend.

If a company you have been loyal to suddenly changes their product so that it either is worse or not even working any more then only a complete fool would continue to patronize them.

Business only understands one thing, the bottom line.

The posters above who have a delusional perception of their relationship with Turbine seem to be suffering from Stockholm syndrome.

Awesome.  What kind of training?

If you plan on doing any running about town, lemme know what you're after.  I can probably suggest a few places, though I'm not personally aware of anything like the San Fran Arsenal in Tspoon's story...

It is a social services training. I am staying down on the Riverwalk (damn expensive dude). I wish Tspoon lived there, i would have already sent him a PM. I am old though and the heart prolly couldn't take it. I can't believe he even played DDO with the parties he goes to.

I know of a few websites that will allow you to find the kind of parties Tspoon goes to.  I know they have them in San Antonio because I only live two hours from there.

I was doing skelly runs with Tspoon a really long time ago and he said, "This is my last run - gelatinous wife is telling me to log off because we are having a dinner party tonight," to which someone else (a random pug member, not knowing anything about our dear T) replied, "Dinner party is actually code for orgy."  T then came back with, "Yah it usually ends up that way," and people were joking BUT HE WAS SERIOUS AND NO ONE ELSE GOT IT.  Grin Grin Grin Grin

Just a word of advice, there is a direct corrolation between how easy the parties are to find and get into, and the average weight of the attendees, at least in my experience.  So buyer beware...  and any hit of hippies and get the hell outta there quick!  Wink  T
