You are interpreting an awful lot from those two statements. Remember, statistically few players of any MMO read any of the games forums, and DDO is almost criminally short when it come to in-game documentation, so many, if not most new players are not going to know much that is needed to know about the mid to upper game (I am referring to the hair pulling comment here). Specifically, name an in-game source that shows the need for high fortification. One of our members thought a Minos, or the neck piece from Relics was a waste of a slot. He was somewhat quickly corrected, not as quickly as I would have liked (I myself wanted to see how it would play out, so I kept quiet), but after a couple minutes, someone gave a very long, and informative lecture on the importance of fortification.

As to the "free recruiting", I'll stand by that comment as is. Even though that is how I joined, I personally believe one should at least fill out an ap on the guilds web site, but YMMV<shrug>.

What is scary is my wife built the bar and the high back ceder bar chairs. She did the wiring for everything, and installed the ceiling fans. I just hold stuff for her.

The beam that supports the long, open side required a crane to lift it into place.

We want to put a fireplace in, but since it would be part of the structure, it almost doubled the cost.

<3 the desert. It's fucking beautiful, and I wouldn't wanna live anywhere but the desert (unless you found me a place about 20 degrees cooler in the summer, but the same climate overall.)

</3 at the current drought we're in. I can't go camping with a bonfire out in the middle of nowhere. Fuck that.

Fuckin' A, you can keep it.  I've only been able to take 1 weekend off from mowing since March.  Normally by this point I'm at every other weekend (I mow about 5 acres).

Adding Churkok (Khyber) to the list.  lvl 17 Barb.  Just ran the Lord of Eyes chain with him, ran off while people were shrining, seemed oblivious to his own HPs, and wouldn't shut up in party chat about how great the eSoS is and how he couldn't wait for Diablo 3.  Nearly every line in party chat either began or ended with lol.  He probably won't wipe your party, but he's fucking annoying.

Ran a shroud with him on my FvS. I was primarily healing and had 15 kills. He had 2. He is a barb.

I'm surprised that guy made it to 17. I ran with him when he was lvl 11 and most of the party had him squelched by the end of it.
