Awfully full of themselves
Hmm, that phrase brings back a recent shroud memory. I was running with someone who regularly posts here and I just thought they'd be good. The group as a whole wasn't -- three rounds in Part 2, ahem. So kinda relieved they were there.
Only they really weren't. They took a lot of damaging tanking one of the Part 2 beasties, and as I ran around the northeast quandrant spreading my healing love, when they got to half health, ahem, again, they started saying they needed a heal from me and they were going to count down until they died, starting at 10.
Ahem, ahem. Really now? If it had been a regular PUGger, I woulda just shut 'em up by healing, and I was about to, but I hesitated, contemplating the hypocrisy of their posts here. And I do confess that in that moment of reverie, they may have died.
I know, names, names. That's not my point. My point is that some of the well-deserved names on this list, like Hesian, talk a huge game and deliver nothing. I would like the people who talk big in a forum devoted to the actual truth to deliver too, and it's disillusioning that they didn't. I was rooting for them! And don't say that on my worst days I could do worse: I know that. The point is about atitudie. If you want to get better at this game, and you do, you want to look up to Vault regulars who have a lot of attitude and trust that you can learn from them.
It makes me ask dangerous questions: like, perhaps the very very best players on Khyber hang out quietly in Free Companions, Ashen, or the elite of Ransack and don't talk big. The Education of NancyPDoyle: Not All Regular Posters Here Are Uber. Sigh. Guess it was inevitable that I'd find that out.
