Not possible.

You can run two clients with two different accounts at the same time, even on the same machine, but you can't run two characters on the same account at the same time.

AFAIK...

I duel box on 2 different accounts on 2 different computers.

Sometimes I'll swap which account is on which computer because one is on a small 19 inch crt, the other is a nice 24 inch flat.

Occasionally I'll log on in the same account because I forget to change the other account.  As soon as the second one loads, the first one will freeze.

Before asking these questions why not try it. If it doesn't work, then its not going to.

Since you cant figure it out, here it is.If you log onto your account, and get on a toon, then log onto the same account,  weather it is the same computer or a different one, It will log you out of the first client.

So you don't have any confusions, this goes for email, most mmo's, social networks, and almost anything else that requires a password.

I know of no way to run two characters from the same account at the same time.

Running two accounts from one computer is easy, though.  Just make a copy of your DDO folder (C:\Programs\Turbine...)
and create a shortcut to the other folder's executable.  Fire them up at the same time and you're good to go (move the login screen a bit to see the other one).

Don't forget about changing ports in one of your .ini files.  Otherwise both clients will try to bind the same port.

Just google "DDO dual box", you'll find some instructions.  I know for a fact there's a thread about it on the official forum.

The better solution, if you have a decent system, is to run VMWare.  The two clients one computer method requires you to start both clients at the same time.  Running a virtual machine allows you to start and stop the 2nd client at will without closing both clients.

But for the love of god, don't pause your virtual machine with DDO running.  It WILL fuck up your shit.  Badly.

Rule #1. don't EVER talk about fightclub.

Rule #2. what happens in the boonies of arkansas, stays in the boonies of arkansas. Unless you can sell it to make great porn

Rule #3. Enjoy the DDO store

As per the well-known Defeatist Theorem, " If I repeat it enough times it will become true"

Popular examples include: "Rome can't be sacked" and "A black man will never be president" and "a wall will keep them out"

I'm still bitter I missed it.  Anything that fired up the Vault denizens enough to force the OP to edit a post and prompt Strake to post in his Official Voice must have been pretty good.
