Underwater chests in Shroud

I feel totally noob.

I joined a PuG yesterday. Wiped in part IV but hey, shit happens.

The odd thing is that someone opened the underwater chests before all puzzles were done, and I have never seen this. Is this a trick or WAI?

The leader even complained about people looting chests instead of running water but "Sorry, but barrier is down and the only missing puzzle is yours, oen guy with water should be enough."
  
In case you haven't noticed, most of the users of this site are passive-aggressive and prefer to sit back and watch Rome burn so they can say I told you so.  (Daily WTF)

I'm unsure of the exact mechanism, but yes the barrier to the underwater chests will disappear at some point while the last puzzle is being done.  Perhaps another poster knows the where/when/why on that one.

It is funny though to have people freak out over that.  The only time I've ever gotten annoyed is when only 1 or 2 people are actually running water.  Only seen that once to date though.

Hi welcome.

And yes the barrier drops once the last puzzle is done, however the barrier and the count down untill the wall arrives will stay up and continue up untill the last vail of water is carried to purify the fountain and this is completed.

I understand, he did the puzzle and was waiting for water, this makes sense to me. I have never noticed this because I am usually running water or helping doing the last puzzle.
