Only in terms of player skill, guild raid completions, server firsts, intelligence, looks, wealth and personal hygiene of guild leader.

If we're measuring: love of bacon, love of porn, ability to grief noob pug shrouds, homosexual banter, getting to the most deaths per instance record, starting drama and being banned from most guilds on server... well we have Legion thumped  Grin

And as far as Legion telling me about exploits I have no idea what you mean... I would NEVER... Tongue

Dammit. I was trying to poke buttons. Smiley

Welcome to the Vault.

Good luck pushing that button. I love Legion, in fact I consider all the time popping over there to see if Lysol is still around, I don't see him post anymore on the forums.

And thanks for the welcome, long time lurker first time "enraged getting ready to drive to turbine with a bat" poster

Lysol branched off to Orien, I think he still hangs out in Thelanis though.

An in game friend told me he did infact enter a summoning chamber instance, log out, log into an alt, and enter another instance, rinse/repeat. When he logged back into those alts they had scales as if they completed.

He received a 7 day ban.

None of the other explinations make any sense. The whole lever pulling thing is redonkulous.

Using the draught in the graveyard is silly. In the description of the item i read in the store it said something along the lines of: will give motes when any undead is killed, although undead killed in the mobar festival area will yield more motes. I cant see the description of an item giving instructions on how to exploit.

The whole "fast shrine" thing also seems silly. People have been using methods to shrine for years. Temple of Vol when orchard farming?

What else, oh the spawn size increasing in larger groups, not sure how sitting in a raid party is an exploit, i mean they did give us the ability to make a raid there,  and there were endless guides that explained this on the forums which were not deleted.

This is the only sensible answer I see ( I know I know sensible and turbine blah blah blah Smiley )

Agreed.  And if so, give 'em a timeout, kinda sounds like exploiting to me.  But if your tools can't definitively identify the exploiters...well, they got away with it this time.  Fix the code and move on, don't swat that mosquito with a shotgun.

OK, I just got off the phone with the customer support with turbine (after over half an hour on hold) and their account management people said that there is absolutely no way to get this resolved over the phone, and to use the in-game support email and wait for a response.  This is un-fucking-acceptable.  The response time to issues like this (especially through email) usually go into weeks.  Now I only have a 3-day ban, but for those with 7-day or 30-day bans, WTF?

heres my theory:

ive heard from a guildie who had a person grouped with him was using some kind of firewall exploit.  apparently you can firewall the levers from the altar room.  the mobs from the levers had no way to get to the caster (no path) which made covering the levers near impossible to fail.

Near impossible to fail, and getting more than 1 item per instance per account, im going with the latter.

The part that I find actually funny in all of this is that it takes (at least) 3 days for them to reply to you about a 3 day ban.  By the time that they reply back and you end up cleared of whatever you didn't do, your sentence is already over.

"Hey, sorry we put you in prison for a crime you didn't commit, but no hard feelings, right?  Your name was cleared after you served your entire sentence and that's what really matters."

NEWS
Last night, some DDO players received erroneous temporary suspensions or warnings regarding an exploit. Due to a technical issue in our exploit suspension process some players participating in the Mabar festival event were incorrectly notified of a rules violation. Any accounts that were temporarily banned as a result of this issue will have their account access restored and will be credited 100 Turbine Points. Any accounts that received warnings will have those warnings removed from their record.

This error was an isolated incident and should have no further impact for any DDO players. As always, we welcome player feedback on all aspects of DDO and continually seek to improve the quality of the service we provide to players.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion and thank you for your patience while we worked to resolve the issue.
How does an autoban thingy start working several days after an event? Could this autoban thingy ban me for something I did on a new character in Korthos several weeks after it happened? There was no autoban thingy. Autoban thingies dont send out emails talking about investigations.

It probably was a script that looked through the server logs for specific activity (and did a bad job of it).

Honestly, yeah, I believe that they found out about an exploit and  hastily tossed together a script they thought would only return those that had used it, and gave the list to someone to ban with horribly written emails (none of the emails I've seen have been identical, either to each other or to mine, so I think those were at least half-assed done by people not a script). Since they screwed up their script a lot of innocent people got banned, and they were too stupid to not do this at a time when they could correct for this and still get off work on time, so instead they just deleted everything and pretended the problem didn't exist overnight, before tossing them a slap-on-the-face gift.

Why? Whats your theory?

I can imagine at least one scenario:

Manager Type: Hey Dev, we're bringing the Mabar event back in a few days after we patch the update. Remember that scan I asked you to do of the event logs? Anything interesting in there?

Dev: Err, ummm, last I checked there was something, can't remember what though...uh, can I review the files and get back to you near end-of-day?

Dev: <to him/herself>: Ohgodohgodohgod, I forgot about that! What do I do?! <furiously pulls up the systemlog, punches in a few hastily thought up criteria, runs a scan>

<Later that day>

Manager Type: So Dev, got anything for me? You DID remember the request this time, right?

Dev: You bet, look at this! We've got a ton of exploiters running around who scammed the event. We should do something about this before the patch!

I think they assumed that everyone who had (a) or was present for (a) event was cheating. I don't know what (a) is, but someone made a decision to ban based on this. Not a script.
