I ran with two permadeath character named Hordwaar and Flintwaar. They are in a special permadeath group that is an homage to Belwaar. Evidently you have to make your characters super gimp as one of the rules. I ran a "Where there is smoke.." with them and I had to log out for the night after we finished. It almost took away my will to play DDO.  Grin

Their rules are pretty interesting.

I'm not sure how long they'll make it as permadeath.  I'd like to see them log their deaths in their bios, and place an in-game bet on who gets to 20 with the fewest.

Yes...Stainer's will to live was certainly compromised.

The gimpiness of these toons will soon be legendary.


As an Homage to Belwaar and his Uberness...ahem...we decided on a group of characters based upon a theme.

The WaarTribe as it is called requires the builds to be an 8/6/6 split with at least one of the classes a healer or a caster.  For extra Gimpositude we further restricted the toons to being no-twink and can use only that which is found in chests or as an end reward (trading in chests is ok).  I did defer and allow the purchase of a quiver, however.  THUS, no bought items at all (save the quiver) yet we can sell our crap to the vendors for better plat if we wish and stock up for when some things come that I allow us to buy, like spell components.

For Improved Gimpositude (I swear that's a feat in DDO...it's on all my toons) a few of us decided to go Perma Death but allow the use of shrines if we can get there, allow the use of any spells, scrolls and items that are pulled (not purchased) but no cakes or such.

It is fun and I look forward to a Chronoscope run, I think, this weekend.

Well the way we were doing it was all completly random and u had no way to plan or spread ur stats.

Say u rolled and got sorc barbarian fighter , you might end up getting only that one level of sorc, so if u sunk too much into cha lol, and vice versa u may get mostly sorc and then if you went max strgth con.....

It was a blast when we had alot of people doing, but then the ones from the other servers quit playing, and it just wasnt the same joining pugs.

The rest of us including my character "Elviwaar" plan on dying a lot. Cheesy 

However we will still follow the "Waarclan" rules which means no twinking and the 8/6/6 split evenly up to 18.
