My only experience with him is the thread linked above and the thread he started when the DDO store fucked him over.  I believe that thread also introduced me to Gunga.

Either way, he seems pretty decent.  He was pretty pissed off about the DDO store fuckmuppetry, and rightfully so, but still kept a pretty level head.

Link some MrWizard asshattery if you have any, otherwise GFY.

He wanders back and forth between being pissed about something reasonable and being pissed about something petty.

He's mostly logical in his arguments, but he puts just enough circular logic and irrational ranting in his arguments to keep most people from being completely on his side even when they agree with him.

He's like the perfect Vault member.

Well, that's a good reason not to like the guy in general.  But I still think he has a good point and is doing the community a service in the thread you linked.

I agree that he huffs and puffs too much. But this particular issue seems to be impossible to resolve to everyone's satisfaction. Mainly because the simple answer (requiring a password to be entered at the time of purchase) makes a lot of sense from the customer standpoint but none from Turbine's.

These micropurchase models (DDO and anywhere else) seem to rely a lot on impulse purchases (NTTAWTT) - how much of Turbine's reluctance to implement such a feature has to do with the possibility of it interrupting that impulse?

Of course, it's impossible, from a PR standpoint, to actually come out and state that as the reason unequivocally. So you get guys like this badgering and huffing and puffing about a feature that's not going to be implemented, (and to a degree, I suspect, they KNOW it's not, and KNOW perfectly WHY... but are themselves reluctant to come out and state that on a Turbine-owned forum.) So this vaguely irritating passive-aggressive little dance between the two continues.

Who cares about all that financial, rl bullshit. The real reason not to like him is he thinks ic pierce (already has slash) is a better feat for his ac tank then power attack....
