Raid Timer Tracker

I think I may have mentioned this once before, but I think it is worth highlighting again. Garth_of_Sarlona has a raid tracker posted on Google Docs. If you have a google account, this is a really easy thing to use. For those of us with more two or three characters running raids, it can be a time saver. The thread for it spreadsheet is here.

Here is what my sheet looks like.

I use this too, handy little thing to keep track of raid timers with. Mystery no more if my alts are on timer for shroud.

It might be useful if I had more than 1 toon flagged for a raid.

So very much this.  Tongue  I think my second highest level toon is like 5th or 6th.  Maybe after a few TRs of my main, I'll get bored enough to care about a second toon.  But it's taken me about 3 months to get to the point where I'm almost done with a single GS out of the three I want on this toon and I still have like 9 pieces of gear that I want, at least 2-3 of them epic.

How people can pay attention to all of that for more than one toon is beyond me.  I guess they have to use spreadsheets on google docs.  Tongue

With 8 characters shroud flagged, I can do a greensteel item pretty quickly if I want to.

I usually work on a couple at a time, doing shrouds and epics on all of them occasionally. Right now I am working on Springroll getting ready for his TR. Dreadler and Dreckler are also prepping for TRs, but down the road.

The others are used when someone needs something to fill out a raid, or to when I want to do something different.

I suppose that makes sense.  It'll probably be easier for me to understand when I've been here longer than 3 months, as I'll soon have a TR under my belt and wonder what else there is to do with myself.

I also failed to take into account that large ingredients can be shared freely, which means that a couple of shroud-level alts running a shroud daily could get me mats a lot faster.  Maybe I need to work on leveling that Paladin of mine after all.  Cheesy

If you are ok with unsolicited advice, I would level a couple of alts before you TR. TR'g is cool and all, but it doesn't add that much to your character. The experience you get leveling alts will make it easier to lvl a TR too.

Agreed.  I like to leave 3 capped characters at all times for raids and epics. I also like o be able to fill a couple of different rolls makes building parties easier.

Yes, I'm slowly figuring out the wisdom in this

I left myself with 2 and it's a bit of a drag.

Permadoc is close to capping, then i'll work on forged and tool

Once I get all my guys back up to 20, I'm gonna sit on 20 for a bit I think..

Ya,  I like having lowbies.  To get away or for a change of pace but having to many makes leveling feel like a grind and having everything capped makes that to much of the same old same old.  So I try to spread things out...

I'll repeat what most have said, I have an army of characters but like having 5 or more at shroud level so I can grind out stuff if needed. I find I can run about 4 or 5 shrouds in a night before I want to stab something sharp into my eyes.

I also try to keep characters spread around the leveling range so I can jump and help guildies if I am needed and feel so inclined.

Of course right now my focus is basically getting Cammie releveled and ready for her next life.

I use the DDO Game Guide (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=137347 ) --for me, it's easier to read than a spreadsheet is.  It's nice because it includes a crafting planner and more.

If you haven't checked out that Spreadsheet option, Zigana, the magic about it is that after you set it up, it automatically tracks your completions via MyDDO.com and tells you how many you've done.

You don't have to remember to go type in that you've done it.

Plus, it's on google, so you can access it from anywhere you can access google.

Whether you find it hard to read a spreadsheet or not shouldn't matter... this is light years better than manually have to enter the time you last completed.

Except the DDO Game Guide does that now too Tongue  And I have no need to access it anywhere other than from home, because I don't play from anywhere else.

I'm not saying the one that Randy posted is bad, it just doesn't work for me, so wanted to share the other for those that have issues with spreadsheets as well.

I made some changes on my copy to suit my taste:

1) Automatically update on the minute, rather than having to press update or reload the page.

2) Data based on character pages rather than account pages.  This means that if you have multiple accounts, you can view cross-account characters on the same spreadsheet.

I initially thought these changes would be simple, but it turned out I had to rewrite whole sections.  In the process, I deleted some functionality (TZ correct and # raid completions) which I don't really care about anyway.

An example:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ap8BjPlfX5lddGVvaVRSNzZhWHM
wejc3SGd5WWFnNFE

If anyone's interested, I cab figure out how to upload it as a template.

It is a nice tool if you have a bunch of characters to run through. Good job.
