I have noticed that people who describe their characters as "Battle Clerics" do tend to have shitty characters and shitty game skills.

That said, I know that my FvS should be considered a "Battle Cleric" kind of build - I just don't describe him as that because I know that Heals + Melee > Just Melee and I know that Heals + Offensive Spells > Just Offensive Spells.

I still laugh when people ask if I can hjeal a raid, though.  "Oh, crap, it's a WF FvS.  Do we need to get another two divines to carry us through this Normal Shroud?"

I could just spam Mass Heal and Divine Punishment without swinging my sword once and still do more than a lot of Clerics and FvS end up doing.

One more thought:  what's with people asking me if I want to go first or second when Shroud healing?  When both healers just pretend that they're solo healing the Shroud, both of them will end up with at least 30% of their spell point left over at the end of part 4 and part 5.  I have seen some *really* bizarrely shitty Shroud PUGs recently.

Edited because me no spel gud

It's an unfortunate side effect of terrible players getting their paws on a good build.

I just got that impression after you spent 13 pages calling out eladiun for being an interwebs bully when anyone who's been posting on here already knew that.  I mean, he's proud of it and hardly tries to hide that at all.

You've nailed everything exactly here.

When someone says "I'm a Battle Cleric" and their build doesn't completely short-change the cleric side of things (ie 12 cleric levels or less) what they're really saying is "I lack the skill to do more than one thing at a time".  It's not a build, it's a combination of mindset and lack of ability.  Same thing with someone that says "I'm a Healing Cleric".  Well duh, every cleric can heal.  What you're saying is that you're incapable of doing anything else between cooldowns.

I've solo healed normal shrouds on my Warforged Spellsinger Bard using a couple pots (due to a healer disconnect).  A pure 20 WF FvS that can't do it is either belligerently trying not to or they just suck.

I have to assume that the taking turns is a product of an era where everyone was capped at 16, the gear wasn't what it is now, and several round shrouds with healers running out of sp's was the norm rather than a horrid abomination.  I've had people saying that in Shrouds ever since I started running Shrouds in early 2010 and have never seen a point to it but I guess that at one point in time it might have made sense.

The turns thing was/is a healing strategy that some leaders will use. One healer will solo heal till oom then the other takes over. That or they were trying to coordinate mass heals to prevent pointless healing. Never used it. Dont really understand it.

I think it must have been somewhat important/necessary at some point in the past.  Otherwise people are just making things needlessly complicated.

It was more of a thing when people ran it at 12-16.

Today with groups that are ~17-20, people generally do more DPS and healers have more mana so "taking turns" is kinda obsolete.

Still a useful strategy for elite, as one round part 4's are not a guarantee.

I was delighted to discover a "cure" for anyone who accidentaly takes a DDoor and gets a completion before they get out.

/stuck can bring you back to part 5 so that you can at least get your chests.

I still think that taking a DDoor is a stupid idea (especially on Argonessen), but I have seen DDoors thrown up on the end chest (supposedly by accident), so knowing how to get back is a good thing.

Backspace or having a 3rd mouse button set tot he same effect can save such things from happening.  It is noones fault but their own they don't see what they have targeted when they go clicking with abandon.

Having two clerics pretend to heal is stupid as well.  You know what works? One cleric healing, the other dumping all their sp for dps.  Yeah, that works.
