Flynn,

My personal opinion would be it's time to find a new guild if that's how they roll. 

Don't have a problem with the guild leader deciding how the guild rolls, just like he/she should'd have an issue with me deciding which guild I want to spend my game time in. 

I'm not a huge fan of renown obssessed guilds.  I'm not sure that there is a huge difference in guild renown once you get over level 63 anyways.    An extra percent on the XP shrine and a couple navigators is about all.  Really, though, it's minor at best.  Certainly not worth alienating people, imo. 

But, like I said, it's the guild leadership's choice and there are players that will be cool with and support that.

If that's not you, then I'm sure you will have no problem finding another guild that better fits your IRL and game situation.

The only reason MAC prunes is so that we don't reach the guild character limit due to inactive characters.  Pruning for other reasons is juvenile and dumb and defeats the purpose of a guild, IMO.
