	It usually only happens when Turbine screws something up terribly. Typically massive downtime triggers it. It used to happen pre Mod9 everytime they would announce a delay in the release schedule...AGAIN. We went over a year with no releases, updates, etc. I even remember a 50% exp weekend. Level cap was 16. Gianthold XP was not nerfed yet. You could cap two toons from Friday to Sunday. I remember Madstone and Crucible were handing out 40k of xp on first runs with the 50% at level 11. We were literally earning a level an hour.

As for major server issues, Turbine generally gave out gifts as recompense like siberys dragonshards or in the case of the 2 day outage� we got a free day and a candy cane http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=128119 The next 50% weekend was for DDO's third anniversary http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=173938 And it was the last one ever. at that point mod 8 was 4 months old, so we were just beginning the� 9 month long drought of new content. there were several 25% weekends sprinkled in there as well. Sorry 11 months October 29th, 2008. to August 31st, 2009.
