30,000+ XP sounds really good.

Until you realize how long it will take your party of mental midgets and you find out that VoN6 will fail because people CAN'T FUCKING LISTEN TO DIRECTIONS.

How fucking hard is "don't kill the pillar until the others are prepped"?

Is "The bard will solo base 1 because the rest of you fuckers don't listen" really bewildering?

I love it when the leader says don't run past my character when we go up the ramp then someone runs past the leader and through the doorway.

VoN5 is a great XP run if you have the right group.  It can be farmed in a decent amount of time at level.  Just have to have the patience to wait for that group to fill.  Most don't want to wait around for too long.

I've seen a few farming runs but my TR was just under then just over where they were listed.

I Teach High School.  This has prepared me for PUG runs.  A bunch of Jackalopes whacking off in different directions.

I remember one pug von I did many months ago where it took all but the last 8 minutes of part 6 to get the pillers down. Everyone hung in there and stayed. On the run up to Veleh some jackass ranger started shooting her from the bridge and popped the door on everyone. Then he promptly jumped off the bridge and quit group.

You can do it pretty easily in a group.  If not enough people that I know are able to run it, then I just do it a couple times and only von 5.  It is pretty easy to solo, I just bring them for the north room.  Most of the time I am lucky and they can barrel through the east in the time it takes me to do the west.

It's pretty easy to solo aside from north room if you can get those damn locked doors open.  My paladin is at VoN level but hates those damn doors.  Otherwise I'd totally just clear as much of it as possible and then bring in someone for the north part.

You can solo north area if you have the str for the levers and can open doors.  Start on the west side, go up the little ramp on the barrier door, make sure to have near 40 jump (a decent swim score helps),ff, and haste.  Then jump around the barrier door ramp on the other side of the barrier door.  Then run up tyhe left side of the 2nd door and jump to the ledge - for that one you dont need ff, or haste.  Clear it all up the way, do the wheels, chat up the talking head, go back to the lever, pull.  Go back to the barrier door, run up the (now) left side of the ramp and jump off with ff and land on the east side.  The proceed to clear it as normal.  Pretty easy.

Do what I do.

Immediately identify who your key players are before stepping in.  Grab the ring and voice yourself.  Communicate with your key people via tells.  Send the obstinate ones to go fight their way to and complete the puzzle.  By the time they are done it's toon catapault time.

In part six put one person in charge of a base, let the others who won't listen kill themselves if they wish to.  Carry stones back to home base.  Res who you can, then kill the dragon.

Or just wipe at the dragon and rinse/repeat part 5 after banging your head against the desk until you bleed Cheesy

Take 3 vets.  Have them solo base 1,2, and 3.  Then collapse to the center for the dragon.  Mission accomplished, gratz.

Von6 will fail? Pugging 5 usually takes forever then there's not enough dps to kill the golem and some idiot ALWAYS casts firewall on it.

That's why I loved my evoker archmage.  Gust of Wind SLA is the #1 spell to cure the stupid. Person lagging the raid with 15 dancing balls?  Firewall'ing the Golem?  15 ice storms?  Whatever ails you, Gust of Wind is the cure. Smiley

Bah, Dancing balls, sleet storms, etc are all fake lag, it's your graphics card not keeping up (or engine poorly written).
Disable bloom\lighting effects and it's gone

This.

I get sick of people blaming lag on spells.  If your fucking card can't keep up, disable the fucking effects.

My computer doesn't have any issue with the 15 dancing balls.  That's why I'm able to use gust of wind to clear it up so the healer on the 386 can heal the raid. Wink

I did disable everything. 4fps in heavy aoe while trying to heal people. Woot! Try it sometime, makes the game interesting.

Those new dots being level 5 spells put a crimp in this on my sorc.  It was a sad day when I realized my air savant lightning/ice sorc could fit in neither break enchantment nor gust of wind. Those spells are staples for my Bard and Evoker AM respectively.  While the lag removal for people on older rigs is nice it's also very nice for clearing off those enemy clouds/dancing balls.

Gust of wind is actually superior for anything it works against though.  No dice roll and the targeting is easier than with break enchantment.

Her system specs are actually pretty close to mine. The biggest difference is her integrated graphics really.
