Elvis and I have been in protracted discussions regarding a build of this type, and this is my version.  I'm very open to suggestions, and will post my thoughts in a second post below...including where and when I'm taking the enhancements LOL.  So, here it is, the Warchanter of Divine Vengeance!

I'm tempted to not take my Smiting/Life Magic all the way to level IV and instead use those points to increase the duration of my songs and maybe mitigate some metamagic spell point costs.

The spells are mish-mosh hodge-podged in there as I thought of them, but may not represent at what level I will take them.

I had hesitated to post this build as I'm still in testing on it.  I just got to level 16 (ready to level-up) yesterday and am really on the home stretch now.

One problem I've been having is the spell-point costs with both Empower and Maximize on when I need to actually be a healer, and the fact that until I'm a level 12 FvS I still have to fucking UMD the heal scrolls! LOL  At least Elvis had a 12 FvS he retooled into this build and didn't have to deal with the growing pains.

I'm considering revamping the leveling of this toon in terms of classes and when to take what, but am more focused on the end-build and how it performs atm.

I asked for help regarding gear on the guild website, and thought that a post here may help as well.  Please, let me know what you folks think would best help me gear up this toon!  THANKS

Here is the current list of gear:

Set Pieces - The stuff I'm unlikely to replace
Trinket: Sustaining Symbiont - GFL, Exceptional Constitution +1, Exceptional Fortification +10%, Suppress Madness
Eyes: Lenses of Opportunity - Seeker +4, Sneak Attack Bonus +3, Overfocus (-10 Search/Spot)[Countered by the Suppress Madness ^^]
Feet: Boots of the Innocent - Resistance +5, Striding +15%; Boots of Anchoring;

Real Gear - The stuff I'll need something better suited to the build, but is good stuff regardless
Head: Minos Legens - Toughness +20 HP, Heavy Fortification
Neck: Beholder Optic Nerves - Search +7, Spot +7, Absorb Beholder Spells (8/8)
Back: Stormsinger Cloak - Resistance +4, Perform +11, Sonic Guard, Anthem
Waist: Belt of Thoughtful Rememberance - Constitution +5, Concentration +13, Negative Energy Absorption 20%
Wrist: Ethereal Bracers - Ethereal, Parrying
Armor: Fleshshaper's Brigandine - +5, Negative Energy Absorption 20%, Fleshmaker, Disintigration Guard, Power Drain, Xoriat Madness: Chaotic Ambition (9% Arcane Lore)

Good for Now - The stuff I'm looking to upgrade for sure, but is in the same vein as what I will need
Ring: Charismatic +5 Ring of Grease (3/3)

The Crap - The stuff I seriously need to replace, upgrade, substitute...whatever
Ring: Disease Immunity of Lesser False Life; Tumbleweed - +6 Dexterity, +2 Attack Bonus
Hands: Ogre Power +2 Gloves of Performing +11

@Hordo, In a raid, what role would you like to fill with this build? Kri, this build (at 20) should be able to fill a healer slot as well as a DPS slot.
Is the idea that this toon can take a healer spot? A dps spot? The concept of this build is to bring buffs, songs, healing, DPS and via the Aura of Menace debuffs to the mobs to assist the overall party DPS.  At endgame in a raid this build should be able to fill the fascinating bard slot (if applicable), general melee dps slot and/or a healer slot but not the primary healer nor primary tank roles.    Through maximized/empowered cures, blade barriers, divine punishment the casting role is realistically covered, and via songs and spell buffs the bard area can be covered but not as well as a full 20 Warchanter obviously.

I did not put my weapons above, as I'm really not sure just what kind of setup I would like to go into, but rest assured the Epic Elyd Edge is on the list of things I'd like to have...and I have a couple of Elyd Edges on my account now ready to go if I were to get the scroll/shard/seal.  I had not thought of the Vulkoorim Fighting Leathers, but have a few sets of that as well, thanks to Blak.  I am wondering if those would be better than the upgraded Fleshmaker's Breastplate I currently wear.

As for other gear, such as ToD sets, I just ran my first ToD last night and Mezz passed over the Spellsinger Ring which has some nice stuff on it, but I am at a loss as to what sets would best help my build...there are no FvS sets yet.  I also pulled Tumbleweed last night and am using that atm.  I still need to figure out what GS to craft and where to put it.  I know I need an HP item, and may as well make it an HP/ConcOpp item but as to which slot to fit that into, I'm at a loss.  Also, where would I put the Triple Negative Immunity item (or do I need it).  I am thinking of crafting a couple of nice GS Scimitars...at least one of them Lightning II, but still up in the air regarding the other one.

At the moment, I have many of the same effects covered on more than one item...20% Negative Absorption on two items, +5 Constitution on two items, Perform +11 on two items, etc...and am trying to figure out the best way to streamline this toon's gear so that I will have the most useful items geared up and only a few situational items for switching.

I look forward to all the help I can get! LOL

The only thing this character is good for is.... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.  Unless piking a quest so you can send tells to someone in another quest is the goal of this character.

Good argument, I can see that you've really thought your points out and brought something useful to the discussion.  Good For You.

I'm thinking that you can probably slot GFL onto a ring (until you get something with a yellow slot) and wear a Bloodstone and Tharne's Goggles?  I assume that the Exceptional Fort/Con aren't really the major selling points of the Symbiont, at least.  Of course, those aren't exactly the easiest pieces of gear to find and this might be a total noob suggestion.  Which makes sense, since I'm a total noob.  Tongue

Pretty sure what flint said was in reference to Hordos famous piking.  Shit, I play on argo and I know about it.

THANK YOU for not knowing what you were talking about.

I know about it as well, and have made a fair few jokes about it, both here and in-game.  But just because Hordo likes to pike doesn't mean that the build itself is shit, which is what the post I responded to was saying.

And you are the one who was missing the point.

Epoch nailed my point.

I am a guildie who's ran with this build and we love to tease Hordo about it and his propensity to do other things while running quest. After the previous night's gaming session I took a subtle jab at him piking in his party and sending tells to the tank in a totally different party.

Ah!  My mistake, then.  Smiley  It read like it was an active criticism of the build itself.  Sorry about that.

BTW in the OP Hordo even stated some serious drawbacks to leveling this character. When it gets to 20 yes it will be DA SHIT help but at points in it's life it's been SHIT. I know I heard a few muttered curses while he was trying to UMD a Heal scroll on my barbarian.

Oh yeah, it definitely seems like it would go through rough spots, especially as regards the healing.  Being able to throw on a couple of Epic Edges will probably make all of the difference, I'd imagine.  Though that makes me wonder if maybe the CHA isn't too low, overall?  I mean, that'll make the character even more useless while leveling to 20, but I'd imagine at 20, with a pair of edges, you'd pretty much be able to all-but-dumpstat STR.

Here is the current suggestions, from my same guildie, regarding Epic gear...I'm considering many of these points.

But first, to fix some stuff:
1. I am doing the 13FvS/7Bard split.
2. I have all of Empower, Empower Healing, Extend and Maximize...these really boost things well, and am beginning to play-test as a primary 6-man healer, and secondary raid healer...we'll see how that goes.

Much of this gear I already have, in non-epic form, on my account if not that toon, ready to get some epics going soon to gear up these items.

I also recently made some DT Vestments (and will stick with Vestments as the insta-swap > useless AC) that have the 25% Striding, 22 SR and 100SPs, but am definitely looking to upgrade that to enhance my damage/healing spells...so any advice is welcome.

Thanks for explaining how the character plays. I havn't really played a bard or a fvs to the higher lvls so my "feeling" for what they need or fits a build like this might be off.
But here is a rough suggestion on an item setup.

ToD
(Ring) Warchanter's Band, +6 cha, +1 exceptional str [+20% healing amp]
(Amulet) Torin's Choker, Superior Potency VI, Wizardry VI

Epic VoN

I'd just like to point out that apparently no one wants to be associated with this build:

haha!

If we didn't have any other FvS or Clerics in the group already, Havakare was going to have him change the LFM to, "Me and some guys need healers for VoD."  Maybe that could have made the humorous LFM's thread.

Lol, Good stuff Ink Cheesy

Yeah its a tough road to follow playing the Warchanter of Divine Vengeance.
I have found critics anywhere I roam lately....
The usual wtf you doing with your build explanation request...

If it's any consolation both Hordo and I capped our toons yesterday.
Now we will be specifically looking for TA lead raids and Epics to join now.  Cheesy

That was one wild quest!  I'm just glad you figured out that you had to kill the mephits relatively together or we'd still be in there! LOL

Brief FYI...

Once I hit some 20th Raid milestones (a ways away at this point) I'll be going on a TR for Gornn path.  Donations of /hugs will be appreciated and distributed to the underhugged of Stormreach.

I'll post the TR sequence, and perhaps builds as well, and will welcome some feedback.  What I do not want, however, is recommendations for uber-leet gear for whatever class I'm running on at that moment because, let's face it, I'm gonna hit 20 and TR within minutes of verifying I have the supplies I'll need for the next life. Those suggestions, however, are more than welcome for the final build of this toon which will be back to the 13Fvs/7Bard using dual scimitars and the SoS.

So far, I'm thinking 3 each of the Barbarian, Fighter and Paladin past lives, with possibly 3 Monk ones as well.  In the middle of some of these, a few smatterings of other classes for a possible completionist...more to come!

3 barbarian is a waste.  Definitely go with 3monk if you are going to melee.

Right on...I was actually wondering that.  So realistically if I go for Completionist that is the only time to really go for a Barb PL, yes?

Hey Hordo, I know this is off topic, but you need to reserve Hordoculture for if Druids ever come out Smiley
