I think that several mistakes were made on both turbines and Jerry's part.

Turbine should not hire active community members to enforce policy on a public forum. This ends up leaving a bad taste in peoples mouths when their one time forum buddies are giving them infractions at stuff they would have laughed about earlier.

Jerry should have deleted/let die his Mockduck account here at the Vault. We all knew where he went. Its just plain stupid to log onto that account over here then take a corresponding admin action on the official boards.

As for Turbine here on the Vault. I believe that they should have as much access as everyone else can here until they start showing reasons why they cant have it(which they may have already). I would like to see a limited form of two-way communication with them here. Either under anon names , out in the open, or through a representative about their intentions when they come to the Vault.

This place exists as a refuge from draconian moderation on the official forums.  It is a place where people can air frustrations, hold frank discussions, and generally goof-off without fear of formal repercussions.  This is a separate place from the DDO forums.  We all understand what to expect based on our behavior on the DDO forums.  If Turbine employees are going to start using our behavior here to affect how we are treated there, then I don't want Turbine employees on these boards. 

From what little I know about recent events, I think that Turbine employees are treading ever closer to abusing what should be a site free from Turbine influence. 

I would hate to see us banning Turbine employees from the Vault.  I think open communication and a shared community are great things for a game, even outside of official venues.  But that's not what we're getting here - we're getting infiltrators who seek to use information from the Vault for punitive purposes elsewhere.

I think after banning people for saying "Hi Welcome" and "jackass" you lose any moral high ground you may have had.

It just dawned on me that I am working pretty hard to resolve this situation and I realized what would happen if the situation was reversed.

Just Ban them all....I like hearing all the mournlands info because it reminds me of the old WDA thread.  As it stands now we aren't officially told squat.

If they are using accounts here to police there they should be removed.

Not somewhere you want to go. But just banning Turbine addresses could still be a good start. I doubt that Warner Bros will want to see Tor on a company-owned machine - after all, that Tor connection could be used by a paedo, and they can't afford that risk.

What I'm discovering (through some public media) is that Turbine is focusing a ton of resources and manpower into the lotro-isengard expansion, and ddo has been left with a skeleton crew of sorts. Hence, crafting. It's basically a time sink while they put effort towards their second game.

LotRO is more marketable because it ties into a major movie franchise and is more socially acceptable to be a fan of than Dungeons & Dragons. Thats also why you see more advertising for LotRO and every time someone mentions F2P they are more likely to bring up LotRO than DDO.
