I'm guessing it was the guild exploit banhammer coming down but I'm interested as well.  Heading out to grab the popcorn now.

I thought the big exploit was the broken LR toon getting endless end rewards. Farming DT draconics for renown wasn't as easy to do as bronze tokens. Just a really grindy way to get renown you'd get from actually questing.

Basically there used to be a bug that if you completed a quest but didn't take your end reward and then did a LR, you could get off the reincarnation boat before finishing your LR and have infinite end rewards. Do this with a 20th raid, and get all raid loot and tomes. Do this with  SOS, and get infinite draconic runes to turn in for renown. Do this with  Irestone, and you can get a lot of ioun stones.

They had a trick involving teleporting a toon off the LR boat to bug out end rewards lists.   Vanshilar's renown horserace thread showed they were getting up to a million renown an hour in weird spikes that took them up to lvl 100.

It's quite a complicated set up- so it wasn't like someone just clicking on a wonky rewards list a few times. There's been some chatter about whether they'll get banned or de-guilded or what. 

The extra bonus joke is that Dispel recently applied to join them.  IF he in fact did,  he might have gotten caught in a guild-wide ban. (This is pretty much wishful thinking,  but it's funny so I choose to believe it may have happened)
