	Well in PnP Artificers are the do anything class. Healing, buffing, fighting, everything. If you know how to use them they're the best in game, full stop. Which is why they will fail in DDO and be nothing even remotely like that.

Artificers are also the easiest class to fuck up in the game. Give one to a noob and they'll probably do nothing but stroke their crossbow. Designing a class is harder than playing them, so it will likely be some weak crap involving a silly, overpriced pet.

	Looking like arti's shaping up to be a cross between a bard, a mechanic (they even get insightful strike for int to damage as a spell), and a functional PM sans the instadeath, to use examples of stuff that's currently in-game.

	Thing is a lot of those spells exist for other classes. Like Disrupting Weapon, Clerics can do that. Except that they can't in DDO, so Artificers probably won't be able to either. Same deal for the Align Weapon spell, that's the only reason why breaking DR is even a consideration. Which is why I say the class will be drastically different, most likely focusing on some weak pet.
