I think they were pretty busy when I sent the application. I better send them a reminder just in case.
SUBJ: The DDO Vault
<Reposting since my first application appears to have been misplaced.>
Well, it's about time. The site has been open for over 2 years. There are over 1,700 registered users, including a number of Turbine employees. Typically over 200 unique visitors every 24 hours. We may not be as big as DDOWiki, but we are THE spot to talk about anything related to DDO. It's time to seek official recognition!
That's right, I'm talking about The Vault,
http://www.ddovault.com/You have seen it mentioned over here for years, albeit obliquely. "Hey, post what you can over here, but post it all over there." "An alternate forum exists, PM me for details!" "I'll guess I'll go over there and get the real story."
What can users do on The DDO Vault?
* Share ideas, tall tales, and colossal goof-ups in "DDO-Specific Discussion".
* Review the best of the official DDO forums in "The Vault of Drama."
* Play Forum PvP in "The Drama Initiative" and "Politics and Religion."
* Laugh at the foolish things you and your fellow vaulties have done in "Infractions."
* Review the latest DDO gossip and rumor in "VaultLeaks."
* Sort through the chaos in "Everyone Moderates."
* Haggle in the trade forum for your DDO server.
Now before this application gets an immediate DENIED, probably accompanied by an "Aw HECK no!" let me make my case.
* Content is at least 70% about DDO.
* We update much more frequently than the monthly minimum. Daily, if not hourly.
* There is a clear link to the DDO site at the bottom of each page.
* Strakeln (the site administrator) is over 18. He did give me permission to apply on his behalf.
* This site is based in North America.
* We have changed four boards to be visible without registration (DDO-Specific Discussion, Off Topic, Builds, and Guides). Guests cannot post there after we tried it and were inundated with spam bots. Registered users need to provide an email address (can be a temporary or throw away account) which we use to avoid the spam bots. We encourage people to use the same name on the official forums and the Vault. Registered users get access to 15 more boards, including posting rights.
I look forward to seeing you in The Vault.
