Apparently Class Damage Boosts as well as human versatility damage boosts are now becoming +25% weapon damage instead of +5 base damage at tier 4.  This was nowhere in the release notes that I could find.

This is a rather significant change to not be included.  As it stands, it would in many cases undo what game balance existed for melee DPS.  A horc 20 Barbarian, for example, would do 10%+ more DPS than a horc 20 Kensei with the same epic setup instead of being balanced with similar DPS.  This change applies to the damage boosts for FvS, Rogue, Barbarian, and human versatility based on testing.

Was this part of some future balance changes? Am I missing the bigger picture here?  Some information about this would be useful...


Actually a nice melee perk for barbs, FvS, Rogues and a good bump for human/helf HV. It's nice to least see some adjustment to melee classes on the rise rather than an environmental aspect introduced to inhibit them for a change.

Those damage boosts got more appealing to try and fit in.

Since they were temporary, I only took them on my human characters that were going to take HV unless the class required I take one of those class boost types.

I'll have to consider this.

Big boost to Barbarians.
Big boost to Humans/Half Elves.

I've been wondering if I'll end up having to TR my Half Orc Fighter 20 to be able to keep him as my crafter or if there will be some kind of way for me to "move" my crafting XP to a Human Artificer.

This at least gives me a little hope that there will be some in-quest benefit for turning my HOrc Fighter 20 into a Human Fighter.  Maybe even a Ftr 18/Rogue 2 so I can actually run more quests solo with the UMD for heals and buffs.

I like the change.

Every human I've ever had ... always had those boosts. It is the only way to pull some power out of them.

Currently Emi only sports II I suppose am going to be dropping healing amp down to I and drop a tactical enhancement to at least gain III ... I am not sure how am going to pull off IV. Einin has a few tiers also, Meallach has none she's just no room. Misbehaven is slated on block to TR into artificer and am thinking possibly Helf.

It's too bad I don't have room for HV4 on Genozid. Luckily, she has Barb Damage Boost 4, so I get half the goodness anyways. Should make tanking Horoth go a little easier.

My understanding is that the damage boosts got changed (good), but running quests/raids on Hard/Elite fortifications on some mobs/bosses went up (Very very bad).

Given the choice between a 20%+ damage boost for a 20 sec burst, or losing criticals. I would have to say I would have prefered keeping the criticals.

This only affects Humans and Barbarians, correct?

My human Tempest/Kensai/Rogue will be happy, as he already has HV4.  My dwarf wizard farts in your general direction.

I am curious about this as it seems to indicate that the class boosts and racial boosts are now on seperate timers...

A maybe intential or unintential side effect being the ability to use any class and racial boost together.  If this is the case than there is potential of using these boosts for other purposes then Damage Boosting.

You could, but they're both typed as "action boost" so they won't stack.

Definitely different timers for Rogue Haste boost and HV damage boost, I have those on my human Exploiter.
