Turbine store and Hurricane Irene

The brain trust at Turbine HQ is at it again.  This time some moron got it into their head that a great way to hawk junk items was to market them with a hurricane theme.

Thread is posted on the live forums under the store feedback section.

Really bad taste...could you imagine if they had done this type of thing with Katrina...

Sorry, but I think people are just looking for a reason to be butt hurt with this. Get over it.

Oh yeah, and I am in the path of this one, so don't try to play the "if you were in the way" bullshit.

most people dont have a sense of humor at all and the rest are just extremely sensitive. hopefully a lot of whiners will eventually quit. why do so many complain (about every fucking thing) yet continue to stick around?

We can't all afford the monthly fee for the privilege of being allowed to such their collective cock, and a sense of humor is expensive. Just ask the ticker.

If I still had the ability to post on the DDO forums from my account, I'd have mentioned that I'm even more offended that Turbine is trying to take advantage of new players by selling crap weapons for real dollars that most players just vendor or don't even bother to loot.

Then Lithic did that for me.  Smiley

Hell, hurricane season is damn near as good for bars in FL as tourist season is.  There's ALWAYS a hurricane themed drink special going on.

the media does inflate it quite a bit. just like they did with swine flu (realistically wasnt that dangerous)

funny story. when i was playing professional mtg there was deck based around a swan and it was right around the time of the swine flu outbreak. i modified it and t8'd a tournament with my version and on my decklist it was titled "Swan Flu" and everyone at Wizards seemed to love it. stuck around after that

Exactly. Can't say or do anything that could possibly offend anyone anymore, everything's gotta be wrapped in bubble wrap and rainbows. No wonder people can't handle the real world anymore.

As someone who is in Irene's path I could care less about this sale.  I'll be in playing DDO as long as the power holds out.

I just got that impression after you spent 13 pages calling out eladiun for being an interwebs bully when anyone who's been posting on here already knew that.  I mean, he's proud of it and hardly tries to hide that at all.

Your post doesn't seem that bad. You were countering ridiculous claims with ridiculous claims to point out the ridiculousness. No real rules broken there.

To be fair....we aren't laughing at the incoming weather; we are laughing at the mockery of "accurate and unbiased" news that is the norm nowadays.

Turbine made a joke about how the news is overreacting....and following suit, people are overreacting as well.

Shut up fuckstick.

We who have lived on the Gulf Coast and are well familiar with Hurricanes love little more than we love our Hurricane parties.

And, yes, my friends in Mobile did have on for Katrina.  It was the night before landfall, not after it buttfucked New Orleans, Biloxi and Dauphin Island.

It is a time-honored tradition in the Hurricane Belt.

Now go and suck yourself off.

You think that the possibility of a Cat 1/2 hurricane going through NYC can possibly be overhyped?  lol.  It's probably not going to be as bad as it could be, but it could certainly be catastrophic.
