This cuts me deep, the time has come for me to suffer a rogue TR.  Rogues are not something I am the greatest with, as I despise their very existence.  They suck, truth.  Almost as much as the revamped arty.

So, gimme a nice build to breeze through the wretchedness of this ridiculous class.

Be wary, I don't give a fuck about sneaking around, nor will I disgrace myself with the thought of such a thing.
Race doesn't matter, class mixup doesn't matter as long as it gets me my past life for rogue.

Most likely dual wielding khopshes, cuz that's how I like to roll.

Last 2 levels don't mean shit as I will stop at 18 and then take them both at the same time.

I was thinking:

Character Plan by DDO Character Planner Version 3.9.1
DDO Character Planner Home Page

Level 18 Lawful Good Human Male
(2 Fighter / 16 Rogue)
Hit Points: 232
Spell Points: 40

BAB: 14/14/19/24
Fortitude: 10
Reflex: 15
Will: 6

              Starting    Feat/Enhancement
Abilities    Base Stats    Modified Stats
(36 Point)    (Level 1)      (Level 18)
Strength           17                23
Dexterity          15                20
Constitution       14                14
Intelligence       13                13
Wisdom             12                12
Charisma            8                 8

Tomes Used
+2 Tome of Dexterity used at level 7

Level 1 (Rogue)
Feat: (Selected) Power Attack
Feat: (Human Bonus) Toughness

Level 3 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Cleave
Feat: (Selected) Past Life: Student of the Sword

Level 4 (Fighter)
Feat: (Fighter Bonus) Hamstring

Level 6 (Rogue)
Feat: (Selected) Two Weapon Fighting

Level 9 (Rogue)
Feat: (Selected) Improved Two Weapon Fighting

Level 12 (Rogue)
Feat: (Selected) Improved Critical: Slashing Weapons
Feat: (Rogue Bonus) Improved Evasion

Level 15 (Rogue)
Feat: (Selected) Greater Two Weapon Fighting
Feat: (Rogue Bonus) Opportunist

Level 18 (Rogue)
Feat: (Rogue Bonus) Crippling Strike
Feat: (Selected) Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Khopesh

Enhancement: Rogue Haste Boost IV
Enhancement: Human Adaptability Strength I
Enhancement: Human Improved Recovery III
Enhancement: Human Versatility III
Enhancement: Racial Toughness II
Enhancement: Rogue Faster Sneaking I
Enhancement: Rogue Thief-Acrobat II
Enhancement: Rogue Sneak Attack Accuracy II
Enhancement: Rogue Sneak Attack Training IV
Enhancement: Improved Balance II
Enhancement: Improved Tumble II
Enhancement: Rogue Dexterity III
Enhancement: Fighter Strength I
Enhancement: Fighter Toughness I

Feats are not in order of how I would take them, just as I scrolled down through the feat list and grabbed as I saw them.

Level order doesn't matter that much, though I will have one fighter level before 12.

Went thief acrobat instead of assassin.  Immune to knockdown and slippery shit means I take off my fom boots for something better.  Also, I am not going to drop into sneak mode to assassinate something.  Fuck that.  2d6 sneak attack just wasn't worth it, or som lame poison shit that doesn't effect red names and trash mobs will be dead before it does anything worthwhile.

Went human for that extra umph with heal scrolls.  Also, human versatility.

Grabbed cleave because it works better then quick draw.  For those of you that do not know, fuck you and don't comment on it.  Faster switching from scrolls/wands to my DPS the better.

Fighter past life feat for full BAB every now and then, saves on the clicky usage if I have to make a side trip to drop a few stones in lava.

HP will be ~410 at level 18.  Low for my tastes, but it isn't likely he will ever step inside a raid.

Anyways, comment away, help me, help myself, to get through the pains of roguing.  Also, pugs will be lucky if I do traps in anything besides Shadow knight tomb (I think it is knight).

One last thing, fuck rogues a thousand lifetimes.

EDIT: Removed dead levels and other worthless filler shit that the fucking planner insisted on being there.

Also, skills which are guaranteed to be maxed:
Conc
UMD
DD
Search
Balance
Jump

Fuck the rest... I know, I still have 4 points left... actually, I may just drop those 3 points in int and move them elsewhere... CON BABY!

Scrolls require a concentration check if you are hit while using one.

You will be level 20 for roughly as long as it takes to go see the TR dude?  If so, sure.  Assassin is definitely the way to go otherwise.

Now I'm curious.  Why is cleave better than quick draw?  This is relevant to me, because I was planning on using quick draw to speed up action boost activation on Talrok.

Cleave interrupts the wait time, and also does damage at the same time.

Just capped my completionist-in-progress: 13 rogue/6 barb/1 fighter with dual rad II's.  If could redo everything, I'd probably do 13 rogue/6 fighter/1 barb.  Barbarian rage as a rogue running around with 650 HP is fantastically fun, but clickies are just too important for a rogue for leveling purposes.

If you have the larges for a rad II, I would definitely go Lit II khopesh (or scimitar)/rad II scimitar (or kukri) for general use.  Dual khops aren't as good for leveling a rogue.

Other than that, I think you are on the right track in splashing fighter.  Sneak attacks are either uber or useless, and having slightly less sneaks won't change that.  If you really hate rogue that much though, you could even go 12 fighter/8 rogue and then eat a +3 heart at cap.  Heck, you could even do 18 sorc/2 rogue and eat three +3 hearts.

Three +3 hearts means 3 weeks.  I want this life to last 7 days.  That is 168 hours of game and non game time.

NOT ONE SECOND MORE!

Yeah I have rad guard on my dt and a rad rapier.  Though I will probably be running around with dual chaosblades for nostalgia.

The build looks workable as it is.

But since you don't like the rogues that much, why even bother?  Crank out 8 fighter levels right off the bat to get feats and bab, and then maybe a couple of monk levels for the feats..  Then the last 10 levels rogue.

It's a shame that you aren't going with a pure class halfling dex build assassin for the true rogue experience.

What you call a shame, I call a blessing.  I hate doing traps, I hate searching for them, I hate sneaking, and most of all, I hate leveling rogues and bards.  Bard is after rogue, I can feel the screams of dying children everywhere as I level.

I'd agree.  do something with 8 rogue and 12 monk or fighter.  Since the last two levels will be rogue, you can do 12 fighter, 6 rogue or 12 monk, 6 rogue.  It'll still suck, just less.  Use a +3 heart to switch it out before TR'ing.

Some players swear by doing a WF 12-Wiz/6-TR class.  (In this case rogue).  Do that every life and LR before next TR.  The wiz solos the fastest and you just AoE,DoT, and self heal your way to fame and glory.

Well 12 bard/7rogue/1 fighter or barb would be fun to try.
What you gain from extra songs and other bard buffs will prolly outweight what you could gain by 6 barb or fighter, in a whole party and even solo ability because you could incorporate some cc ability as well.

Well I was trying to build something okayish for a TR life so you don't have to LR. Personally, I wouldn't wanna spend the TP on it.

You know they are available in game, right?  Only cost around a mill plat.  Or 2 reds.  Maybe 3 if you are in a rush.

Of course, if you are speed TR'ing like Epoch is, that doesn't leave much time for loot runs.  TR'ing is fucking expensive.  Another reason the WF Wiz is a nice TR build.  You are not spending a shit ton of plat on haste and healing.

Still working in a couple shrouds and EVon's a week should keep you flush with cash.

Easiest Rogue TR Build Based on my Sasi Mynx Shadowbane Inquisitor (modified for TRing)
HOrc
Str18
Dex15
Con15
int6
wis8
Cha14

1 paladin -Feat:TWF;Skill Points into Search
2 rogue: 3skill point into Disable rest into Search
3-7 paladin -3Feat:Power Attack 1 skill point into UMD rest into Search 6 -Feat:Extend (for Divine Favor)
8 fighter -Feat Impr TWF skill point into UMD

12 Fighter Feat Mental Toughness; Feat Gr TWF; Skill UMD
13-20 rogue Feats: 15 SF:UMD, 18 Toughness;kills max search and UMD then disable, left over points into Balance

You should be able to get most traps while leveling for Max Exp even on Elite Take Skill boost early on until later rogue level s (if you are failing elite traps). No Open Locks (This Build is for leveling not Thievery, though end game adaptability is possible)

Highlights: Self Sufficient can carry a weak party with wands and LoH (2) and Unyielding sovereignty. Paladin Immunities, Good Saves, UMD (Teleport/DDoor and rez.. Heals later on) Early on go Hunter of Dead as Paladin (Delera's/Orchard) later go Knight of Chalice. Great DPS via High Strength and Paladin Clickies (divine Favor Spell, Divine Sac, Exalted Smite (5) and Divine Might1 (10) and of course Sneak Attack.

2 pieces of gear I recommend are Radience 2 Scimy/Rapier and +1intskills SP +2 Cha skills SP +3 cha skills SP item for +6 wisdom and UMD bonus

Cool, the Shadowbane prestige classes were pretty great in 3.5.  Nice to see them revived.

Why don't you take rogue at 1st level?  The skill points in this build look pretty tight, and going rogue at level 1 would open that up some.  You could take Toughness at 1st, TWF at 3, and push Extend back until later to still fit in Power Attack.  Although personally, I don't think Power Attack is that useful until much later in the game, so maybe keep Extend where it is and fit in PA later.
