I know he posted on the other forums he was done playing and Jerry promptly closed that thread. I hate that people that give stuff like this to the rest of us leave the game.

Yeah it really sucks.

I have to say I don't care for his shroud planner (at least I didn't back when i first tried it) but everything else about that site is fantastic.

Oh no!  Angry  That's my go-to crafting site!  Now I'm gonna have to make Stainer stand next to me and tell me what I'm supposed to put in the altar next.

stainer: "Now put 7 large devil scales in the trade window and hit accept."
Me:  "Are you sure this will get me a Lit 2?  I don't remember it working like this before."

I think that he would rather insert his Small Splintered Horn into your trade window.

Eladiun, what you wrote there, made sense to me.

I might not understand the full story, but I don't get the "Unfortunately my hand has been forced." part. Was there a doomsday device attached to the non-VIP release of Arties?

I understand the motives, but after all it is his decision, and not something he was forced to do, wasn't it?

The fact that Turbine updated their VIP advertisements with misleading and deceptive language instead of actually putting "*sorry, you can't get Artificers through favor" on a footnote or something similar.

I understand putting a lot of work into a game that you love because the work is interesting and fulfilling and I also understand becoming so disgusted by the company that owns the game that you no longer want to do anything that would support that company and their profits.

Pretty much. For a while there, I'd actually considered paying up front for a bit. Now I'm sticking to giving em cash on my terms.

The thing is Pope you will be able to get them free when the packs release in U12.  The agreement is an argument in semantics.  It says purchasable or unlockable by favor so you have to wait a month or so for the new quests required to get all the favor woop dee do.  No one is pointing a gun at you saying you must roll an Artificer today.  It took me the better part of six months to even unlock Favored Soul since when I came back to the game I rolled all new toons.

The escalating war of answer me or else is bullshit.  The message on his site said he won't provide bandwidth which is why I offered to host.  In the end it's just another threat to coerce people.

Look back at the Favor Soul release threads and people screaming about them taking 2500 favor and how unreasonable it was and how they would never roll one.  SOSDD...

As a side bar while he likely did the lions share of the work others have tested and contributed to those sites.  He has a donate button and people have donated as thanks and payment.  It's a shit move.

Taking donations to run it, and then shutting it down to spite turbine is shitty. Why the hell would turbine care? It only hurts players. If I had donated and he pulled this shit I'd be very pissed.

I think it's highly unlikely he's currently in the black from donations.  And as long as he isn't, then that donated money went right to where it was supposed to go to.

Considering it takes about $50 a year to run a shitty little low bandwidth website, I'd be utterly stunned if he didn't manage to match his expenditures.  Though that's still some pretty bad faith.

Of course, I wouldn't expect a whining, entitled fuckhole to understand.  You're too busy rushing to sympathize with other whining, entitled fuckholes.  Sad

So, people are pissed at him for taking money and then not delivering something that people expected even though he didn't promise to deliver that thing forever?

...and those same people are saying that what Turbine is doing isn't a big deal.

Super amazing.

If he got less than the pittance it took to run those tools on his site, then it's all good.  If not, he's doing much worse than what Turbine did.

The "Donation" button on his web pages was a pretty recent addition.

He accepted donations, that's true.

He didn't mandate them - it's not as though you had to wait ten seconds to use the tools if you didn't donate.  There was no "Donators only" version.

I'm having a hard time grasping your argument for "Dickhole", "Fraudulent", "Pussy", etc.
