I haven't played my monk Dreamler in forever, so I thought I might TR her. Now that we have all these XP bonuses, I might TR her a couple of times. My first TR I was thinking 12ftr/8 monk and get the ftr PL. What do you guys think, and can you recommend a good build for me?

I did the same with my monk. The 12 fighter 8 monk thing is very nice, but if your just going to TR him right away then going 9 monk first (11 for the rest of the way) and rolling with TOD was a great way to lvl fast. Especially if you solo a lot.

feat selection is pretty standard, couple or 3 toughness weapon spec etc. One thing I did that worked out well was taking stunning blow for the fighter enhancements. +3 dc for 6 dc is nice.

item wise I suggest getting the vamp wraps from the assault chain. Its great till about lvl 16-17 when you start to need more stun dc.

Cool.

I was also thinking about getting the rogue PL for more sneak attack.

I was playing with it too, but it will be after I finish off the 2 ftr PL's.

After getting Rogue PL and going 1/2 elf with rogue dilly and ninja spy SA is pretty tempting.

12Ftr/8Mnk is fun. Wrap speed + Kensai II STR etc. is lovely.

The Fighter PL is useful both in the obvious way for stun DCs, but also to shore up to hit a bit as you can struggle in a couple of places unless well geared.

You might not want to go WF but the Godhand over on the other place is a decent template you could work from. Could tweak to Human, light path and Vamp Stonedust Wraps for survivability levelling. With Haste Boost IV and on Elite it's tons of fun. The good thing is now you get nice xp bonus for running E as well as the obvious benefit - the mobs having enough HP to make them your ki-generating and healing source punchbags. Smiley

There's also the Beotch Slapper you could tweak a bit and ditch the Rog level (or even keep it for the trap bonuses for more juicy xp if you care to pause for them).

Or just roll with it. Quite hard to go wrong with melee really, especially fighter with all their feats. Get the appropriate TWF feats and the bludgeon specialisation stuff and away you go. You can tank Wis unless you fancy doing the 9Mnk suggested above and want twice the ToD dmg.

I'm TRing my Monster variant into a 12F/8M for his second fighter life, but I'm going for a Stalwart Defender tactics dwarf build just to play it a bit different.

Don't only two of those stack? Or do you mean you want one now you've tried the other? Or am I having a brainfart and they've always stacked?

I've always fancied one of these but I solo so much when levelling it seemed a bit redundant. You played yours solo at all? Do they suck solo as much as I fear? Rad II wraps would be nice :/

Half-elf dilly doesn't stack with rogue sneak attack.  It stacks with all other forms of sneak attack, such as Ninja Spy and gear.  So an Half-elf Ninja Spy with Sneak of Shadows can get 6d6+10 sneak attack, which will probably increase when NS3 is released.

That's part of the problem with NS3 IMO.  The progression from 1d6 at tier one and 2d6 at tier two (for a total of 3d6 at tier two) implies that tier three will be 3d6, making 6d6 total from NS.  Another 3d6 from H-elf makes it 9d6 total.  Couple that with a Half-elf dilly and the attack speed of wraps.... and a monk can do more sneak attack damage than a non-assassin rogue.
A pure monk would have the same sneak attack as a 19th level Acro or Mech, but with a TON more base damage, better saves, more HP, and many many more class abilities.  And with the faster attack speed, he'll actually do more SA damage than that 19th level rogue.
That's almost the definition of OP in comparison.

Ninja Spy should have been 1d6 at each tier, not progressive.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for clarification.

I had a feeling there'd be no more sneak damage for NSIII. I was thinking that would stop and it'd be some other effect entirely for the last tier, though all the obvious ones I ran through in my churning it over didn't quite fit, so it made me wonder if they might be given an entirely new effect. Perhaps some combo of improved invis & bluff. Or, y'know, something a lot more creative than that. Smiley

The half elf dilly stacks with the Ninja assassin dice. Or at least it did about 3 months ago. The past life bonus may not, I dont see why it wouldnt though. I dont have the PL yet so I'm not sure.

EDIT: Looks like Im late to the party!!

I think they will be adding just 1 more D6. For a total of 4d6.

If you cast more than three firewalls a quest I'd suggest you go wiz or sorc 12 rest x class, then LR3 before TR for the x PL

Its a sad state of affairs when the best way to lvl fast is to be an arcane 12/x whatever then LR3 for the TR. Sadly true too.

For me, it's not about the efficient leveling (although a nice perk), but rather the fact that I love casters and don't really enjoy melée. I think Stainer has the opposite situation

Not necessarily. I like my Evoker FvS.

I have progressed as I have played the last two years. When Uppers hits 20 I will have capped every class except Arti, Rogue and Paladin. I loved Woodburning when he was a Sorc, until he hit Amarath (before Savants and dots). He was useless in Amarath, so I tr'd him into the Melee FvS he is today. I switched Uppers around last night, and he is a Pale Master. At lvl 15, he is pretty nice. I could end up liking this one. I have a cleric and a bard. I can play both, but neither are exciting.

Let me rephrase.

With the limited skill I had at the time, I could not play my Sorc worth a shit in Amarath. I tr'd and have more luck with my WF FvS.
