Wasn't Tolero involved in how the classes are now split on the forums? Isn't she supposed to be pulling bugs from the forums for devs? I have a feeling that we are going to get screwed some more.

So instead of just keeping this UI abortion as an option, and letting us have the "classic" UI as an option, they're going to sink more time in the the bloody coat hanger  that is the current UI. I guess they've never heard the phrase "throwing good money after bad". I guess in this case it would be "throwing good development time after bad".

From what I recall reading, the UI extendability in in DDO is very limited. I'd like to see them build a system that gives modders more power, much like the UI skins in Firefox.

Right now, skinmakers can't even edit the mouse pointer. I want a great big fluorescent bullseye, because I lose the stupid thing in the middle of fights. Difficult to rez someone who is dead or drink a curse pot when you can't find the pointer. We should be able to modify the size and location of any element - if I want party health bars that are translucent and cover half of my screen, I should be able to do that.

Instead of bitmapped icons for spells and gear, I'd rather see vector graphics that scale to whatever size you want. That would really benefit old people like Stainer, whose failing eyesight needs larger sizes on everything. Sort of like a DDO version of large print books from the library. That's all well and good, but they didn't do ANY of that with this horrible update to the UI. And in fact they made it more difficult for the UI skinners to do what they do FOR FREE for the community: skin the UI. The elements of the party UI, you know the ones that changed, haven't been released by Turbine and Cordovan said it will be a few weeks before that happens.

If they actually made it so that the UI was fully skinnable and made every single element tweakable, that would be amazing. But they're not setting out to do that. They're just going to try to make the new UI look less like that scene from Carrie and make it more usable by people who actually play the game. But I bet dollars to donuts that the'll fuck it up worse somehow.

Well I supported AC for a bit while doing game support for MS - thing was (and this was along time ago) we didn't officially support any of the add ons - but some of the options for AC2 and AC1 for the graphics add ons were amazing.  Heck, even Guild Wars had some interesting options (I like the character resize options) that would make for minor customization that would make a MAJOR difference in this game.  I for one don't mind the new UI, after a few days I am already used to it with no issues - but more UI options = better options because not everyone likes it the same ways!

Question: with the new interface, how does one leave a party or boot a member? Right clicking doesn't bring up a menu as before.  Did I miss something?

The new official method is to swap characters every time you want to leave a party!

In all seriousness, I am able to leave parties, but sometimes it takes a few tries.  I have heard people experiencing that problem and they did have to swap characters in order to leave the party, but they did not have the problem again once they swapped characters.

My wife was having this problem, and (for her at least) it seems to be related to the map orb having a larger border than before.  So when she was trying to click on the party window, she was hitting the map orb.  Moving the party ui box down a bit more fixed it for her.

I like how they act all surprised and want to have focus groups and shit now, but they knew the new UI was a clusterfuck of fail since Lam. I would post this on the other forums, but Tolero gets all butt hurt when I point out contradictions in what they are saying. That, and Majfailphunktion doesn't like to talk about the past. Yesterday is the past, so he gets a clean slate.
