One of the first, and best, PC shooters I played was Tribes. Simply an awesome game. I never played the follow-up Tribes 2, as I'd gotten hooked into Team Fortress Classic by then... but I always thought it was a shame that the franchise dwindled.

Now it's back with Tribes: Ascend - and it looks stellar. I saw it at PAX, but never got a chance to wade my way through the three hour+ line to play it. It will also be Free to Play, with perks if ya want to pay for em.

You can sign up for the closed beta in one of two ways... you can guarantee a spot by pre-ordering for $29.99 - or just apply normally. Me, I'm taking my chances with the normal application since I don't have $30 to spend on a game atm...
