Totally, man.  I was suckered in by your amazingly epic troll wherein you say stupid shit that's obviously incorrect and then pretend like you didn't say it until someone points it out to you specifically, and then you call it trolling.

Seriously, that's the best trolling I've ever seen on the Internets.  Ever.  I mean, wow.

*shrugs* I like to assassinate. I like to do traps. Epoch would probably hate running with me, and that's totally fine. It seems to Epoch, a well-built rogue is one that is mostly built with tons of strength and con. He's not the only one that thinks this; there's even a rogue on Orien that constantly and annoyingly spams rogue threads about this theory. Most people instead play rogues to utilize the class skills, which takes more time and a vastly different playstyle.

Rogues aren't particularly good at soloing at level, because their damage come from sneak attacks. Epoch likes to zerg through dungeons and solo a lot. If I played like that, I probably wouldn't like rogues either.

Seriously, this is a slapfight for no reason at all. People play different ways, and different classes fit those playstyles better. It isn't actually a big deal. Now, the idiots that claim they can only take one rogue in a raid....those people should be strung up.

Pretty much this, although I'll disagree with zerging being the province of Str-based rogues.

My own rogue is a Dex-based halfling.

I looked into going Str-based when the rogue forums erupted with how all Dex-based rogues were gimped. I really did. I'd never felt gimped, but I figured if everyone was jumping on the bandwagon, there had to be a reason.

And then I realized that being 3 points of damage per hit behind a Str-based halfling was more than worth the trade-off when I can actually sustain my to-hit score, have a working Assassinate DC, don't require 3-4 gear swaps to go 100% on heal scrolls ( seriously, what's the point of an " Oh SHIT!!! " button, if you need 3-4 swaps before you can push it? " ), be a much more well-rounded character in general, and yet still have to be careful and run -50% threat at all times or I'll pull agro now.

It's seriously not that hard.

/shrugs

Don't dump Str. Don't dump Con. And don't negelect to take PA on a melee rogue.

That's the end of it.

I think you missed the point where a solo rogue can't zerg the same, especially a dex rogue, because you will have aggro and not get your SA bonuses.

I haven't had that problem since Vale and Rad IIs were introduced.

I have a rad II as well, and while it helps it isn't really the same thing. Blinded mobs run around like chickens with their heads cut off, so while I can get my SA, I have to chase them down to get it. In the meantime, other mobs are wandering or breaking blindness. Adding on my eMG has helped because of the imp paralyzing, but it's still not the same thing, and it's sure as hell not the same thing when leveling up.

Bandy this thread is a lost cause. Of those posting alot in this thread Epoch knows the most and he doesnt care to know any more than he already does. The rest are either contrarians who bring every thread they post in down to a bitch fight or their cheerleaders who prop them up. SOme people just dont realize that just because you run with someone everyday you dont have to hold every opinion they do or blow smoke up their ass to help prop up their credability.

Oh look, it's a mealy-mouthed pussy who's incapable of actually saying what he means.  How cute!  Smiley

I've recently rolled a rogue, like I said, so I'm pretty interested in how the best rogues get their rogue on.  So feel free to hush until one of the big boys addresses you.

Meh, there's something to be said for blind mobs running arounbd like headless chickens, but by the time I'm swinging Rad IIs ( level 8 ), I don't really have a problem being perma-hasted either. And to-hit just isn't anywhere close to an issue Wink.

If you say soloing to that point ( level 8 ) is much harder on a rogue ( or ANY toon that has min level 8 GS gear ), I'ma laugh at you.

Old Greensteel is ML 8, it makes for some crazy twink gear. I have a sexy triple pos khopesh +5 holy goodburst +4 AC Greater Disruption +4 HA and a rez clicky... just a bit overpowered but very nice for Delera's Necomancer sack and Shadow Series in the hands of a hunter of the dead.

Ah, well that would be nice to have, but it isn't really the case for most of us, so my point kinda stands Smiley Nor does GS mean anything at all for most of a first life rogue. This is a bit of an apples and oranges thing.

Yup, first life anything sucks.. no easy Voice or mantle (noone wants to break their streak), no raid gear atleast the crafting is a bit of an evening up mechanism, I think rogues are the toughest first life class to play... gear makes a huge difference.

Who cares about first life? Give them hand-me-downs and you should be able to cut in elite just fine.  It isn't like you aren't going to cap before you blink three times.

Versatility.

Scroll healing, very good trash dps (inb4 the wizard does that), Wrack construct (-10/20/30% fort reduction for constructs for the whole raid).

Oh and traps, should you want to do raids such as eVoN5, VoD. Maybe it's even useful for the magefire cannon, but I did not run House C quests so far.

Re: Topic. Selfquote from the other other forums:
Quote:
All places are bad in some sense. This is why:

Helm conflicts with Minos; if you have a MinII item, you still need to slot toughness in an Epic Blue Slot somewhere.
Gloves conflict with (Epic) Spectral Gloves and Epic Gloves of the Claw.
Goggles conflict with Tharnes.
Belt conflicts with ToD belts (e.g. Ravager, Assassin) or Epic Mroranon Belt (but the latter one frees the Hat slot, at least).
Bracers conflict with Tharnes (This is an issue if you are not wearing DT armor with the tharnes property, i.e. you will lose 20% threat reduction or narrow your armor choice if you make bracers.) and the Epic Claw Set.
Necklace conflicts with Epic Necklace of Venom and swap for Cartouche.
Cloak conflicts with Mabar Cloak and Epic Envenomed Cloak.
Boots are bad because of Striding/FF/Madstone/whatever swap.

I tend towards Bracers, Cloak or Necklace. If you have a Red Dragon armor, and want to wear 3piece echrono, necklace is the only option to maintain tharne's set bonus if you want to have it.
