It was more that such a stupid battle helped force a bunch of states start to create a national identity - and you can't say that the US hasn't bought into that concept from time to time. And don't forget all the dead Turkish guys in all this too. While it brings out the best in some, war is very stupid. Bah. Just move this thread to politics. I'm done. These days of course Anzac day is used for anything and everything military honorable.
