Supposed someone has a toon in a guild, who is not an officer, but all officers and the leader have been offline for almost a month now.

If I understand it correctly, after a while, an officer can become the new leader.
If there is no officer logging in as well, is there an option for regular members to become leader of the otherwise inactive guild?

I rolled a toon on a different server than my home server, and I joined a guild there. After a few weeks, I lost interest and played on my home server again.

Seems like everyone else did the same thing a bit later than I did.
I wouldn't mind being the leader of a guild and not having done anything for having a nice shippie.

I'd got the ADs for the level 35 or whatever it is ship. Leader hadn't been on for ages and everytime I logged those chars in I would get the message re usurping.The policy is for all members to be officiers and newer members were appearing (I suspect alts of one member). Tiny boutique guild that I was grateful to be allowed to hide in once upon a time. So I usurped, made everyone officer, made the former leader the successor and put a note in that if I ever noticed he had logged back in again (I don't play this character much) that I would make him leader again and that I just wanted to officer everyone. I'm also the only person who puts ammenties up. I don't really know anyone else in that guild. There is one other person in there who appears to be fairly active but every time I try to talk to them I get very short answers so I just leave them alone. Everyone else has either left the game or is on a very long break.

Not sure how he would feel about me usurping. If there is ever any issue brought up about it I'll happily hand it over. It's just sort of preserving the status quo.

Look at Rebellion ( now called Remants of Syphiroth ).

Until U12 they were slowly drifting back towards oblivion, with only 1 member having dodged the Banhammer...

Now they seem to be back in the business of Renown Farming. ( legally or not, I'd guess exploiting again, as they jumped back up a lot in renown )

So the only member left seems to finally have managed to usurp the guild, renamed it, and probably invited back the banned ( with a new account ) to the Exploit Farm Fest.

Too bad we don't have the Renown horse race thread anymore to check on renown progression.

I have a bank character in a guild that was run by some friends because they needed a 6th account.  They have been offline for over a year - everytime I log in I have the option to usurp if I so choose and I am not an officer
