Just curious as to who here thinks of themselves or other DDOers as the 'fanbois'.

I was thinking Hendrik, Chai and Thrudh (DDO forums) come to my mind.

Touche.  Might have been one once I'll be the first to admit, but it's been a long time since then.

Still, my fanbois is not yours.  Just curious as to who thinks whom is fanbois.

Completely as an aside, I gave Turbine the benefit of the doubt up until the the end of the "dry time" in 2009; when they opened up DDO: EU with the Store, I was really disappointed because I didn't trust how the Store would evolve and how they handled player transactions.  Sure enough, starting with the Huge Bag fiasco, lack of Point Statements on up to the +3 tomes, they have proven everything I feared would happen.

I am assuming the fanboi term is more like of a negative thing. 

Anyway, I don't think Chai is a fanboi.  I like reading his posts because it is well thought of and very much intelligent and have sense. (Universal Redundancy of the Universe Ftw)

I even have his avatar printed, and before I log on to play or visit the forums, I place a candle on that printed picture and speak softly, I hope someday I will be like you...

I was never a true fanboi (blind, unswerving devotion to the almighty Devs) - but I would couch by criticism a bit softer, and they were doing more things right then wrong at the time. In my opinion, of course.

However, I learned that soft-peddling where I thought the Devs erred made it easy for them to ignore... so I started being a lot more direct with it, and got results.

I was never in the camp of The Devs Can Do No Wrong... which in my mind is the definition of a fanboi. When the Devs do something good, I do like to point it out. But, to me, just complementing them on a job well done does not a fanboi make. Granted - there has been a lot less to give em kudos for in 2011. Even the things they've done right has been vastly overshadowed by what they fucked up.
