Caution on upgrading your Challenge WalMart epics

Some people are experiencing string table ID bugs and are not getting the correct abilities and epic slots on Epic challenge items that they're upgrading to the final tier.  Might be good to wait on these until the bugs are worked out a bit.

seems to only be an issue with tier 3, i just upgraded a spare hand to tier 2 with no issues.

Maybe you should kill the mobs, THEN climb the ladder.

Common sense FTW.

Looking at his user name, he appears to be French and was likely in the process of surrendering when he got his ass kicked.

Every time these kinds of bugs come up I think one of two things.

1 - It was noticed, but they could not fix it in time.

2 - They are ENTIRELY FUCKING STUPID. I mean really, how can you not notice that half the upgrades are fucked, broken abilities, missing epic slots, extra colourless slots, etc.

Extract from suggested test plan:

Test: Trade ingredients for item 1.
Expected result: Ingredients consumed, item is placed into my characters inventory, all abilities are present on item, confirm abilities work in other test cases.
What actually happened: ITEM WAS COMPLETELY FUCKING BROKEN, IT IMMEDIATELY ATE MY DOG, FUCKED MY WIFE AND RAN OFF WITH MY MOTHER, ALL WHILE SINGING 'DAISY'.

Actual test plan used by Turbine.

You have everythting wrong Auran.

Structured Test Plans cost lots of money.

Now is the world of the Happy Testing. ( or give somebody something to test for a few days without any other instructions. )

I see it everyday at $Ork... we went from weeks/months of structured testing... that produced something that was so stable that the support was free... to days ( no more than 3 weeks ) of Happy Testing that produces pieces of shit that crash when you look at them, but now our customer have to pay for the support.

It gives the Excel users at Corporate HQ orgasms that now we manage to make the customer pay for a service we used to give away, as they don't care if the piece of garbage we deliver works... as long as the bottom line is filled.

Yep - I used it to demonstrate to the devs back when half elves were on Lamannia just how absolutely HORRIBLE the half elf skins look.  Every male half elf I have ever tried to create since looks like either:

(1) Someone on your neighborhood sex offenders watch list,
(2) The annoying French Canadian barista at your local coffee shop that smells like clove cigarettes, or
(3) A former member of Wham!

As for the ladder bug, I was simply illustrating that DDO devs are not fixing bugs that are six years old; I wouldn't hold my breath for them to fix ANY bug in a timely manner.  Unless of course it impacts the DDO Store, in which case they call a development triage to get the hotfix in.
