MF is stating that they're going to give the whole Enhancement system an overhaul, including the interface.

A forced AP reset is in order.

PrEs are being hinted at.

I am not so sure what the purpose of that thread is, other than a heads-up you can vent in.

I hope that this change wont reduce customization to cater to the casual player. When I hear the its going to be a tree, I get worried(I start thinking of diablo tree).  The other issue is will changes force LR's or massive feat changes due to prerequisites. Lastly, I am afraid many builds will be destroyed and forced to TR. "Some enhancements may perish in the name progress."

Other then that I like the talk of PrE's

"Balance" strikes a Caution point in that OP!

All this means is Decrease for melee AP enhancements and pre-req, Increase for Casters.. Specialists will probs be forgotten all together. 

I foresee much drama in the months to come!

Exactly, done right it will enhance usability, remove confusion for people new to the system, and reduce the number of gimped enhancement sets out there.

Done poorly though and it will gut one of the selling points of DDO - the level of build customization available to players.

I'll reserve judgment until I hear more.

Lots of people are freaking out about the suggestiong of using a "tree," thinking it'll reduce options. The way I read, the "tree" is ONLY a UI change, not a new mechanic for selecting enhancements. Hell, what we have currently is basically a tree based set up, it just isn't displayed that way.

But what if it's several trees that jumps to each other ....

That's another reason I didn't go into details of the tree, but gave a general hint of something that could be nice ( something that works like Civ Tech tree, that is you select what you want to reach and let the game points you the requisites.  Note the : WORK LIKE, I want something more complex than the Civ Tree with at least 20 trunks ( base enhancement that opens the others up ).

To be honest it's already more or less tree based, but it's not that obvious :

  I quite agree. Trees on the interface is a good idea, many times I find myself having to search and hunt for a missed ap to unlock a PrE that is not listed. If they change too much and multicass options are taken away there will be outcry. As to the crit rage barb crowd... If this affects you, you are a gimp, time to put away your wop rapiers and do some FB dps

Be nice if they adapted the "Barter UI" to the enhancement system.

Click to see what's available for your class, then see which prereqs you need for X goal at Y level, to get to PrE.

I know, on my very first ranger toon (years ago), I asked in /advice at which level do I get Tempest.
Everyone said 6.

I was level 10 at the time. Couldn't find it anywhere in enhancements.
Someone told me to hit "Show unavailable". So I did.

Took me about 15 minutes of scrolling back and forth, going "WTF is an Adamantine Companion, some kinda sex-bot?" before I decided I should probably re-roll.

Fucking noob.

If the thing where you have to click the unavailable list and search through to make sure you make the prereq goes away, great.

If you can, for example, say "I want Warchanter 1 and Frenzied Bezerker 1, give me the most efficient route", supergreat.

If you end up with automated crap enhancement trees that stifle build creativity, I'll break kneecaps, because that is totally not understanding the USP they have here....
