I like the theory that I stole from Maxwell that we've actually got more new posters now than we would if it weren't for the Spammer Honeypot.  A lot of people post because they see that it's a requirement to be able to post later, and said people would have just registered and then lurked.  But since they post once and end up getting sucked in....

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't end up in P&R.  It makes it too difficult to figure out which ones are the newbie idiots and which ones are the troll accounts of horrible posters past and current.
