I am disappointed they had to delay crafting - there's no reason to *not* be disappointed.  I can understand the reasons why, and still be disappointed.

How about this : It's like playing the BF3 Beta.  The beta shows us cool maps, awesome infantry gameplay, neat weapons, and superb vehicle combat. (which is kind of lol if you actually played the beta, but work with me)

Well, I like all these aspects of the game, but I really really dig the vehicle combat the most.  So I pony up the money for a preorder.  I want to support EA/DICE putting out a game that I enjoy.

What I don't know is that EA/DICE put vehicles in the Beta, and opened Preorders, but also is cognizant of the fact that there is no way that they'll actually make it out on time for the release date.  Vehicles will be a future update to the game.

I, as a customer, don't learn this until the beta closes, or worse until game launch.  Do I still have a game?  Yes.  Is it fun?  Sure.

But if it's missing the element that I really enjoyed the most, is it still the game I paid for?

Bait and switch.

In truth, most of these points will go toward Learning Tomes.  Learning Tomes that I'd use while TRing.  TRing that I'd do because I'd be online more often.  I'd be online more often because - you got it - I'd want to be getting more tasty loots to deconstruct, and grab more essences, for crafting.

Because I don't know about you, but most of my essences comes from TRing toons.

But whatever.  To me, what I spend the points on was irrelevant.  Putting money into a company that was taking the game somewhere I liked was the reason, and that's all there is to it.

Out of all the things in DDO, crafting is what you love the most?  Seriously?  I could even see your point if, like others have said, the xp tomes got delayed after you purchased points knowing that you will buy them as soon as they're out.  Who even spends points on crafting?  Why are you being dumb?

This is the message you receive just trying to craft a shard currently on Lam for those asking:

"This recipe cannot be performed because the result would cause the item to surpass its current Maximum Enchantment Level.

Craft and use a Shard of Potential to increase the Max Enchantment Level first. Note that Max Enchantment Level cannot exceed +15."

If what Landar is saying is he rewards Turbine with money when they are working on the things he likes, then I can understand.  The part where it all fell apart was he tried to cash in on the sale and reward them before they delivered.  Considering that they always have a TP sale around PAX, you should have waited, you just rewarded them for failure.  Tongue

I love customization.  Crafting to me is a wonderful customization compliment to DDO's (and D&D's) character customization.

But crafting is his most favouritist thing in the whold DDO world!

And apparently, we might be seeing an announcement publicly soon™ on the Tomes of Learning.

My guildie went to buy the sale.  He is not reading the forums, or even had the slightest idea what update 13 has.  He just buys the points. 

A lot of people  I met in-game doesn't go to the forums or DDO pages.

Just sayin

DDO still isn't out of beta, as far as I'm concerned.
