Interesting that once you die its over for the toon. Most games dont do that as a game norm.

That's what makes roguelikes so awesome.  I'm going to have to give this a try.

Managed to get my wizard to level 15 before I lagged at a really bad time and kicked it. Nice little game, if you're not too picky about your graphics. Reminds me of Gauntlet.

I think the graphics enhance it actually. there's something about a game being 8 bit on purpose that grabs me. Especially when it's set up to be good.

Graphics don't make a game for me: game play does. It's why I go back to a lot of the old NES and SNES titles: the focus was on game play, not flashy graphics.

I only played it a bit last night, and can't seem to get it to work here at work  Undecided

Just got up to 9th level Wizard.  Couldn't find much in the way of decent gear and ended up out by myself a lot, though.  Finding a big group that you can stick with seems like a pretty good strategy, but it looks like everyone just goes with zerg zerg zerg.

Which is cool.  I can see it becoming very addictive.  But even though I've unlocked priest, there's no reason to play anymore.  Right?

Right?  Sad

I have only gotten 1 char to 20 - a rogue.  I got a priest to 19 and died in Oryx's castle.. grrrr..  One good way to level is to teleport to the closest guy to your next quest, or join one of the trains that just zerg around the roads.

This game is my style.  Zerg, zerg, then zerg some more.  I like to get a large groups of mobs and run around in a big circle blasting away.  Killing large groups of mobs that are higher level then you makes me wet myself.

Capped a priest and now I don't get how to earn fame.  And apparently their wiki doesn't, either.  So I can either grind away and pray that I do something fame-worthy before I drop dead, or delete the toon and make another.

This shit is dangerous, though.  I should just lose the link asap.  Sad

Once you cap, you get fame instead of XP for kills.  The bigger the monster, the more fame.

Even after you cap, you can improve your character by getting potions that permanently raise stats from the strongest monsters.

Enjoy!  Cheesy

This game is very addictive just zerg and loot, the only annoying things are people wanting to talk and lag that sometimes, remember DDO lag.

Every game can be permadeath.  Just take some fucking initiative.

Wow, you love me. There has been two big lag fixes in the past week. No, those are not going out with a hotfix. They are more wide ranging and take more time to test.
Of course every time you get like this, I keep wondering where your MMO is so I can play it. Obviously you know excatly how to piece one of these together. I can't keep apologizing a gazillion times for the back end tech and things people did on this game before I was even an employee. So one last time, yes some of the stuff from the before times sucks. Sorry about that. Yes we know, stop building new systems. Yes we know, finish the ones out there. Yes we know you hate bards.

And screw you for bringing up the laid off folks. That sucks every time. I made sure all my people landed in other jobs real quick. None of my 'casualties' are unemployed, just sadly not employed by Turbine. Every business goes through this.Even Valve has layoffs. It sucks every time. If you haven't had to do it then you just don't know. Picking people and knowing you are about to turn their life upside down is terrible, every time.
Not giving a bleep. No, I stop listening when the bile starts. Not worth my sanity. You know my rule, treat me like a human and I'll do the same back. When the rage train starts...cya.
So here is my peace out of the vault for a while. Thanks for the list Ranger, that was actually clear and helpful.
