And when your druid transforms into a wolf, your little wolf animal companion transforms into a tiny naked man... with a shopvac.

Why the fuck would they show a clip of a Druid wild shaping into a stupid wolf???

No Druid player (except Snootch maybe) would EVER change into a wolf. They would change into a fucking bear and later into a fucking dire bear!

Even if my Druid wasn't of high enough level to change into a bear, he STILL wouldn't change into a useless wolf.

Show me a damned clip of a Druid changing into a freaking Dire BEAR!!!

I like how they focus on how they are proficient with simple weapons like it's something special. Do they even have anyone check anything?

Gotta remember, these are the same folks that proudly introduced zombie form so that 'you can start playing the PM style earlier' (Apparently this means less effective in DC casting and melee during the level range where that'd actually save you SP).

I wonder if it takes that long every time you transform. I also wonder if you do the stupid howl when you transform into a wolf, or some other equally useless emote when you transform into something else.

Forms mentioned: Wolf, Bear, Water Elemental, and Fire Elemental.

Sounds pretty cool. The animation looks smooth too.

One question: I wonder what they did in terms of attack speed. I wonder if this was the hold up. In other words, "wolves" in the game attack slower than PCs, so I wonder if that was a limitation of the forms. I'd like to see some footage of the druids in combat.

Expand your physical limitations and rain down lighting as the Water Elemental

Apparently, Druid Water Elementals will be throwing around lightning instead of cold attacks.  Maybe the Druids that transform into Earth Elementals will do knockdown and cold attacks and Air Elementals will Earthgrab and melee?

I'm looking forward to the Druid race and I hope that they introduce the Gnome class at the same time.

I personally don't care, but is there something about gnomes that actually adds to the game? All I forsee is another race of lil people for flavor. No?

I have a Heavy Pick Kensai, but mostly I just wanted an opportunity to make fun of last year's interview with Fernando where he was all excited about the new half orc class.

Maybe, just maybe, they'll do something cool and have these weapons be a little more powerful in the hands of druids.  (e.g. increase critical threat range and/or multiplier)... that would be nice.

When they made artificers they actually made repeaters something that is viable to use as a weapon.

Why do I have a feeling that Turbine is going to limit certain druid spells to specific forms?

I think Tolero suggests as much in that thread.

Haven't we all already accepted that after waiting what...5 years for Druids they will be the biggest let down in MMO history?

I'm guessing that it will make Aten look like a PR/marketing genius in comparison.

It can't be as bad as Duke Nuke Em.

At least it won't be the worst gaming let down ever.

So they have that.

I know diddly squat about druids, since last time I played pen and paper was first edition. My failing memory (I'm almost as old as Stainer) has no recollection of druids.

Wouldn't it be more likely that you keep your druid spells, and gain access to the spells cast by those specific forms?

I'm guessing it will be like the SLAs - you'll pay in enhancement points to be familiar with any given wild shape, and once you buy it, you can drag SLAs for each wildshape to the toolbar. They'll only be active when in that specific wildshape, just like monk abilities like finishers and feats like stunning fist are only active when in a stance. Of course, it will be amazingly bugged, so we will be able to cast lightning spells from water ellie form.

Note to any Turbine staffers reading this, and one I genuinely hope you share around the office: DDO has become a shit game because y'all have made it a shit game. Once it was great. Now, it's a festering puddle of monkey diarrhea. No matter how you try to justify it, or pat yourselves on the back for doing great jobs... it's a shit game now because of you. Y'all keep on giving the players the middle finger, and you keep expecting us to reward you for the abuse. I've had it with you narcissistic fuckwads and your myopic policies of ineptitude.
