Ok.

It has been long enough to safely say they are in no hurry from them to drop again. This can't be a hard fix. I refuse to believe that it is. IT SIMPLY DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. If it was bugged the other way and everyone got a scroll, instead of one random party member that shit would be fixed the next day.

Now why would they do this?

I have some ideas on why they would want to deter people from running epic content. What are your thoughts?

Ok. That does sum up your posts fairly well. How does that help us with epic scrolls?

With the incentive to TR and the disincentive to run epics, fewer people are probably using Token purchased hearts. I hadn't thought about that aspect before.

Edit: Also, with Turbine's past "issues," it could be a set up for penance of a sort. Think about all the fanboi-ing if Turbine follows up the fix with an extended period (a month? More?) of double scroll drops.

It took them weeks just to figure out how they broke it.

The drops are supposedly fixed in U13.1 though.

I think it's good they didn't rush a patch. Maybe this will fix it and have no chance for it to be repeatable in the future.

I would rather have Turbine look into the problem and FUCKING TEST IT rather than rushing out a patch. I don't know about any other servers but Argo has has absolutely crippling lag the last week or more (more than standard DDO lag.) My little network indicator usually reads around an 80mS latency with 0.0% loss. Recently it's been averaging the same latency but a constant 0.5-1.5% loss, and it's not my side that is having the issue.

There is definitely something wrong with the game and I believe MajMal acknowledged this issue and said some attempt at a fix would be done with 13.1.

You can say that they would fix a player favored bug instantly but...they did let the bags ride for a while (hehe).

Epic scrolls were the cause of the crippling lag issue which prevented the patch's release.  The scrolls were being dropped, but they were being assigned to cosmetic pets and Artificer Homunculli. The lag stemmed from adding a filter into the scroll assignment algorithm to count only members of the actual party.  Once they figure out how to stop awarding them to hirelings and onyx panthers before players now they should start dropping normally.

It took a month for them to fix the bag exploit.

Khyber gets it pretty bad as well.  Don't blame lag, blame fate.

It took them a long ass time to fix the barbarian rage bug as well. I don't think it's fair to say they only fix bugs which the players love.

WRONG. They would turn off scroll drops the next day. Then turn it back on when they fix it a month later.

My thoughts?

If it is just a bug, they are very much incompetent.  As a developer myself, don't tell me that the code is complicated that you don't know what you will break if you add this.  Remove the complicated codes or test the implications, that's how development works.  How can you fuck up a big part of end game like that?

But if they did that on purpose, what they did was really low and lame.

For me?  I think they did that on purpose.

This is the company whose own bug reporting tool was bugged so all the bugs we reported never got read....

Ergo, they are entirely incompetant enough to have screwed this up without giving credence to the conspiracy theory.

Also Epic scrolls are going to be a much bigger deal here in the Vault. I would imagine 99% of posters here are interested in Epic Scrolls whereas the vast majority of players probably couldnt care less.

However it's about time it was fixed. The longer it continues the more suspicious folks will get.

Has anyone tried the Forums yet? Has any dev replied ? Or is that infraction territory ?

I'm voting stupidity over maliciousness.

it's probably something stupid and easily fixed but they don't want to do two patches and are trying to bundle up a whole bunch of fixes in one patch.

They just don't consider the lack of scrolls as important as we do.

And if anyone wants to buy a Gloves of the Claw scroll on Ghallanda for 8 reds send me a tell tonight!  Cheesy
