Bags broken again - but this time differently

If you put a BtC item into a green bag that isn't unbound, the bag becomes BtC.  The bag does not go back to unbound status when you take the BtC item out of the bag.

This does not appear to be exploitable - it's only broken in a way that hurts players.  I expect that this will be fixed approximately one month before the end of time.

Tested and confirmed. Ouch.

Bought a small ingred bag, put a BTC ingred it, took BTC ingred out, bag stays BTC. Not just cosmetic, can't put it in the shared bank.

And if the BtC item is already in the bag?
What about BtA items / shards?

BtA ingredients make the bag temporarily BtA (and that's correct functionality).  Only BtC ingredients appear to break the bags as far as I can see.

I don't know how to test existing bags since some of my bags were already btc and some of my bags were unbound and I don't know which bags were which.

I'm personally not going to take my existing BTC ingreds out of a bag to test. If you weren't going to take all the BTC stuff out AND move it to another char anyway, it doesn't matter.

I take this back.  I do have a way to test it because I recently picked up an unbound bag and I happened to remember where it was since I hadn't moved it to that character's bag-tab yet.

If you had a BtC item in one of your previously unbound bags, you're fucked.

I haven't hit Lama since U13, since I just paid Turbine $80 to bugtest. Obviously it wasn't enough money to get them to bugtest properly, but does anyone know if  this bag issue was present on the last lama build, or did it only show up on live?

It wouldn't be the first time they broke stuff between Lama and live.

Note to any Turbine staffers reading this, and one I genuinely hope you share around the office: DDO has become a shit game because y'all have made it a shit game. Once it was great. Now, it's a festering puddle of monkey diarrhea. No matter how you try to justify it, or pat yourselves on the back for doing great jobs... it's a shit game now because of you. Y'all keep on giving the players the middle finger, and you keep expecting us to reward you for the abuse. I've had it with you narcissistic fuckwads and your myopic policies of ineptitude.

Eww.  I don't like this one, I still think we should call it a exploit though just so it gets fixed faster

I would never in my life transfer a bag through mail and/or the bank for fear that it would get lost. I would be so fucking pissed off and distraught if it got lost. I recently looked at everything in my bag and there is shit in there that I didn't know I had. 50+ epic scrolls. Almost every shard and seal you could ever want. Ooodles and oodles of ingredients. I'm not sure why anyone would care about this bug other than wanting to lose everything in your ingredients bag.

As long as you're not fucking stupid, you'll never lose a bag through the shared bank. If you hit bank lag, effing wait until the bag actually transfers into your inventory before walking away. 99.99999% of people losing bags lost them because they did something stupid.

Nope.

It is in the Known Issues list already, though.  That part was very fast.  That's at least a hopeful sign.

Yargh. Isn't this lovely? Glad I took care of transferring all the stuff I needed before this happened.

Somebody find a way to exploit this, so it gets fixed <3

And my source says it doesn't matter if you login or not.  I find this hard to believe, but they say that if you have a BtC item in an unbound bag, that bag is now bound whether you log in or not, to be fixed at a later date.

I look forward to when they fix this. Why? Because I'm sure it'll go back to the way it was before. Nudge nudge wink wink. Say no more say no more.

Wishful thinking. Turbine would have to have source code control in place.

Answering my own question, I just checked on Lama a few minutes ago, and the bug exists there. Assuming that the Lama build hasn't changed in the past few days, the bug was missed or ignored over there.

I bought a new bag at Empty Handed, put in a shroud pie piece, and it became BtC. It did not say anything about being bound due to a bound item outside. After taking it out, the empty  bag stayed BtC. I tried mailing it to another character and got the message "This item cannot be mailed".
Hate me if you want, as of right now I'm not letting anyone crack open the build for this. Nope no way. Nada.
I need developers working on the expansion pack, and that only. Again, hate me all you want, but creating a whole new realm takes priority over a broken bag. This is pretty much true of a few of the other issues that crept in today also.

This may change of course, but as of this second, sorry folks, at the very least patch 2.

Start throwing stones in 3...2...
Seems like he's putting it out there like he is in charge of development, and not just QA.

There sure are a bunch of whiny babies crying about it in this thread, well maybe one whiner and a few tissue carriers.

At least they didn't break epic scrolls drops, can you imagine the rage then?

I was there in that thread!

But I wasn't the one carrying the tissue, I was the one assigned on carrying the lotion.

Hey, I would of never knew about this bug if people didn't cry like little retarded bitches.  Why? Well I am glad you asked!  Here is the reason why, all of my BTC stuff gooes in the same bag, whilst all of my bta/non bound stuff goes into a separate bag!  Man, if only the common rabble was that smart!

I am common and that is what I do!

Every character has a large bag for questing, and I have 5 large bags in the bank to sort it out into later.
