Druid in the making...
Apr 10th, 2012 at 8:00am
Print Post
...what is the consensus on good past-life feats for TR-ing into a Druid when the big event happens?

Thus far I went ahead and guessed that Wizard would be nice, so I have begun the levelling => TR process on Hordoculture, my future Druid as a wizard this life.

Hopefully, I'll have the time to do at least one TR before July 25th (if that is the right date...I'm old and my memory is going...at least that is what I tell the authorities when they ask me things) and I was considering a 2nd life as a wizard, but if there is a better plan, I'm eager to learn.

I was thinking Wizx2 then Druid and stay there if I get burnt out or TR again and do a couple of FvS or Cleric lives.  Also, just how close to the PnP Druid do you think this will be?  I am asking this not because any PnP build is remotely viable in DDO but that the main stats are generally the same as well as the general spellbook, and I'd like to figure out what kind of stats I'd be looking at after I make sure my CON isn't dumped.

THANKS!

Im guessing you want to be a caster druid. But Druids are similar to favored Souls in their combat ability. Plus th whole druid bear form. I think druids will be mainly direct damage/buffing healing casters so a high casting attribute will not be necessary for DC's,
Im afraid your wizard life might not be as useful as you thought unless you go pure evoker.

So in my opinion the melee past lives will be of more use. Druids get proficiency with scimitars, this is a big deal in PnP, so is their healing along with Wall of Fire and Lightening spells, if they do an enhancement line it could be a big deal in DDO.

Half elf scimy wielding lightening slingers. Half Orc Bear form melee monsters, Human healers that do a little of everything... these will be the builds we will see in my opinion,

Hordoculture is a brilliant name, I am holding treehugger on Argo

Druids get BB.  This makes sorc lives important.  Everything else is secondary.

Ok...well already into the Wiz life, so I'll finish that as my first life, then I guess I'll try to zerg a Sorc life or two and then see what I've got.

As for melee past lives...I'll see what I can do, but you were right that I intended to be more of a casting/healing Druid with melee being a tertiary aspect.

Thanks for the input!

Down the list a little...
blade barrier      PH      205      evocation [force]      Celestia 6, cleric 6, Good 6, Metal 6, War 6      medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)      effect

does this mean that only the classes listed get them, but Arti isn't there either.

Arti isnt listed but druid definately is... Arti is Eberron specific and probably why it is not listed. Druids have an divine mandate against using metal, this would hold continuity with no Blade Barrier

If anyone has a BB scroll laying about you can tell now whether or not druids will have it. It looks like they stuck in Druid on at least some scrolls as far as being allowed to use them.

Interesting, I will have to start looking at various scrolls instead of ignoring them in chests.

Thanks!

No BB makes me sad, I am still unsure of why I think they should have it.  Oh well.

Because with it they would be like unto a god among men.  Verily they wouldst reap the flesh of their foes as the farmer harvests his wheat.

And then they'd light them on fire or turn into a bear and poop on them or something.

I believe the date of the expansion is June 25. Assuming pre-purchase and that Druids are being released with the rest of it.
