What is the AC breakdown?
Do you play in a static or guild only groups?
Rage lowers your AC & won't stack with SD stance.
This is a PL for an eventual tank fighter build. I love AC, it makes leveling super easy. I have tons of AC equips for leveling.
Here's a rough level 20, theoretically:
10 base
11 dex (15 base + 3 tome + 7 item + 3 excep + 2 ship + 2 yugo)
16 armor (eCavPlate)
8 shield (large)
6 sup stab
3 dodge (bracers of wind)
2 dodge (goggles)
1 dodge (bracers of wind)
4 insight
1 alchemical armor
1 alchemical shield
4-6 natural (epic slot, eChimera)
5 CE
1 dodge
1 stalwart I
2 stalwart stance I
1 kobold ship
1 dwarf ship
1 house d ship

Even at 18, you're only a few points shy of that. Losing a couple of points from eCav and +7 but that's about it.
Bard+pally+arti raidbuffs would add +10 or so, hitting 90 in a raid not out of the question.
I solo or PUG generally. Sometimes I catch parts of TR trains, but not very often.
I am completely aware of what rage does; this is barb life #3. I only rage when I have solid healing to make up for the loss of AC. Rage doesn't just "not stack" with stalwart stance, stance prevents all rage effects. Towards end game it'll be stalwart when tanking, raging when DPSing - I usually raid a lot from 18 to 20, it's fun.
Glad I can always count on the Vault to keep me warm inside when it's 20F out.
