was kinda fun, similar to old diablo. enjoyed my monk, I think it was a little too easy, never in real danger of dying aslong as I kept attacking.

My wife played all the classes through to the point where you killed King Leoric. Her favorite was the Witch Doctor and she also thought the Monk was pretty cool.

Monk is totally the easy button, at least as far as the beta content is concerned.  They may just be very front loaded.  Guess we'll find out.

I enjoyed the wizard, but found them to be extremely gear dependent.  The barbarian was ok, but the demon hunter seemed a bit under powered.  I found myself spending a lot of time running away while trying to kill shit.  I haven't played the witch-doctor much yet, so I don't really have an opinion there.

I do know that the game is a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to it.  A co-worker is throwing a LAN party the Saturday following launch, and I figure we'll get a good 15 hours of play time in.

Wait, what the fuck? I thought they weren't supporting LAN?

He prolly means they are lanning up to play online together.

What do you guys think about the longevity? With all the previous diablos I played like a rabid fiend until i beat the games and then had no desire to play again for the next 12 months.

Also, penis.

Diablo: the ultimate rogue-like.  Speaking of, I've been playing a lot of Dungeon Crawl - Stone Soup lately.  Great game.  I also can't wait for ADOM II

Diablo is like crack to me. I must avoid playing Diablo 3 or risk relapsing. Cheesy

DII had me in its grip for years. I'm planning on only letting DIII have a month. We'll see how it goes.

Diablo 1 killed 2 mouses of mine, and I am still playing LoD in single player mode.

I'm not going to touch that kind of witchcraft for now.

The first game was very Roguelike. The other two, not so much. They're their own things.

The only problem is it's hard to assess the longevity of something you can only play the first few percent of.

Just curious, was the closed beta more content than the open one?

I don't believe so.  Closed beta was levels 1-13, and content was Act I up to the Skeleton King.

Closed beta did get fake money to test the AH though, which I don't believe the open beta folks got.
