My son and I play it too! It started to suck once he was a teenager and I would have a bruised arm.

I love how the rules vary by region.  In NY, the vertical limit is "eye level," which my friends and I have defined as "below the plane formed between the eyes of opposing sides."  And I've never heard of catching the finger that is trying to break the circle, but I like it.

It's unfortunate, but we've had to eliminate the shoulder punch at work.  People are so uptight nowadays.
