LOL, the raid is closed before it even opened.  Not an Auspicious start, even the Titan and the Abbot were at least open the day they released.

I just got that impression after you spent 13 pages calling out eladiun for being an interwebs bully when anyone who's been posting on here already knew that.  I mean, he's proud of it and hardly tries to hide that at all.

Oh, it's the raid they closed.

Maybe it's part of their charming offensive? Make it unavailable, so people are more eager to play in?

but I thought everyone loved the idea of an escort raid where the loot is firstly dependent on the final health of escort npc and then subjected to the random gen gods to actually get the permutation you actually want.

Also, penis.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this?  Oh, that’s right, the last time they did something like this we were forced to do the retarded ass abbot puzzles.

The abbot puzzles are awesome.  That raid would just be another reavers without it.

Hell, I suck at anything more complex than 'roids at the moment, and I can admit that. Gives you something to work on beyond bludgeon it with numbers.

Yeah this is coming from the same guy who thought players would really like the idea of randomized raid loot...

To "make it more fun?"

Note that he offered not one single fucking clue as to what that actually means.

I'm pleased as punch that they closed the raid.

1) I forgot to take my computer with me this week, so I only have a keyboard, speakers, monitor and mouse with nothing to plug them into until I go back and pick it up later today.

2) They've listened to our feedback and they're trying to make it better.  I don't know whether their efforts will succeed, but they are actually trying to make it better.  They actually put aside the rush to release and they delayed something for the expansion pack in order to give it the time it deserves.  We've been bitching at them for not taking the time needed and for rushing updates out the door whether they're ready or not.  This time, they're actually giving something more time.  That's a good thing.

Hopefully they decided that Feather_of_Suck is terrible at designing loot and they won't have random bullshit anymore. Also less coyle and more not coyle.

The biggest issue with an escort mission isn't the mission itself; it's Turbine blind ignorance that their NPC/Pet IA is complete shit.  I'm leveling an Arti for the first time and my dog is so fucking stupid it hurts.  He has the box breaking enhancement because I figured the least he could do is get me ransack.  The dumb fucker will stand there and stare at a box doing nothing.  He freezes up and locks up constantly just looking a wall.  He'll just chill in the middle of a trap.  Their hireling AI is atrocious.  Just look at the simple AI required for Kobold challenges.  Pick up purple before green.  They can't even fucking get that right.  Nevermind things like pathing in lava caves...there's a teleporter five torches back, nope I'm going to run up this ramp through 3 levels of uncleared MOBs going 5x this distance because my fucked up AI thinks it's shorter most likelly because some asshole at Turbine forgot to exclude the Z index.

Yeah, now let's build a raid around that level of intelligent AI coding.  I swear to god I saw better AI in user written bots playing CounterStrike in the 90's.

Well it means that feather is claiming the raid is shut down for gameplay reasons, but I find that claim dubious.

It's not like we were not hearing about serious bugs in the raid on harder difficulties and serious pathing/stuck issues with Ana before the release.  Not to mention no raid loot dropping confirmed by a single player.

I am guessing this was really a combination of really horrible bugs leading to a mostly broken junk raid and horrible feedback leading to the raid getting a major rework pass adding upto a decision to just not release it until after the rework pass.
