Wrong again. Backstab is the highest DPS for a d/d Thief. Not only is it the highest DPS per initiative [because it costs zero Ini], but it's the highest DPS attack in their arsenal period.
You are wrong, period. There is no way backstab is better DPS in PvE because backstab is single target and DB is AoE. You don't run out of intiative unless you are bad. Thief has so many initiative adds, that you are rarely found wanting.
Also, yeah backstab is more damage per initiative, but only because anything divided by zero is infinity. Derp. Way to miss the point completely and make a totally asinine and unrelated comment.

Obviously, I wasn't talking about PvP. Only an idiot fanboy would think otherwise.

Three utilities.

That's over 9000 available skills, assuming none of the three Utilities were Conjures.
It's funny that you keep ele as your go to example. "Look at how many skills I have, so much customization!" When in actuality, ele is the WORST example of lack of customization in GW2.
It's not about the number of skills you have, it's the fact that they are all the same all the time in all the same places. You have no ability switch out a skill you don't like for something else. And there are tons of ele skills which are not good. Please don't give me a spiel on how all the skills have use in certain situations or I'm not using the skills properly or at the right time, because that's not the point nor is it true. Some ele skills are mathematically bad. Attunement switching nearly doubles the number of keys I need to press for no real reason. (nd no, boons on attunement switching is not a real reason. There was a reason no one slotted flare in GW1, and for some reason A.net thought it was a good idea to force you to take 8 flares (2 weapon x 4 attunements).

Less customization than GW1. I personally don't consider that enough.
