OK, it was the walking _with no encounters or mobs_ that used to annoy me so much... you could walk for a good minute or two in areas of GW and not see ANYTHING but the scenery... that got really boring after you'd already been through it a couple times.

They recently adjusted the population density in the Orr zones because there were a bit few too many.  Also adjusted the knock backs those mobs used to spam.

There are a variety of things to kill around, not all will be hostile but you can pick a fights.  There are plenty of events typically happening at any given time in each zone.  Some are bugged and won't advance, usually getting reset when the serve gets a update.  Still more functioning than not.

Yea, it is a pretty solid game with little lag except at major events. Rewards are decent and worth doing for your dailies and monthlies. High end rewards do take some time and grind to achieve for a casual player like me, but if you just play the game you will eventually get there.

The combat isn't as good as DDO's, but with the easily swapped out skills, you can adjust your character to the event or situation, so there is a lot of flexibility. The races are interesting and the story lines are pretty well done.

Overall I would give the game a solid A-.

The Future of Online Games Panel from Pax

Featuring Turbine and GW2 getting booed... or some variation of those words.

A good mention of D&D and a shout out to D&D and Chainmail. Jeremy Gaffney was on the panel (founder of turbine) but was there representing a new game called Wildstar.  DDO was mentioned in passing as a game the moderator used to play.

Ran the newly released parts of the Living Story last night and really enjoyed them.  Part of the time was spent telling Breaken where to go because Texas.

It's nice that they made it a bit easier for smaller guilds to get the guild bounties.  We were forecasting our first to be ran in 2087.

If you have it available, the Guild Treks are MUCH easier than the Bounties.  We did the tier 3 trek - 20 location first try.

We've done the tier 3 bounty only once successfully, we usually settle for a tier 2.

I meant to unlock the bounties at all.

Yeah, and you need to obtain a certain amount of guild merits to unlock Treks. My small guild has them unlocked, but we have yet to complete one. Always get the guy trapped in the karka, or Half-Baked Komali.

Our previous nemesis was Tarban in Brisban (can you say confusion spam?), but now it's Bookworm in Lornar's.

Wildman in the random Karka wasn't ever a problem once we found where's he was hiding.

It's so much fun...I wasn't around for the golden age of 8-bit gaming, but I'm sure that the people who were around love this to death.

So. Much. Fun.

How does it look <on character>? I know some skins can look very good in the preview screen, and then you regret them when you equip them... Thinking about getting it for my elementalist.

Jeff Grubb does writing for GW2, which is all I need to know.  That man was behind Manual of the Planes and tons of other quality D&D stuff.

People started a forum thread to determine drop rates of a specific skin in specific chests.

Dev drops in and gives answer.

Their dev interaction is pretty awesome.  I remember there being a question about the necro item that drops in the Shadow Behemoth chest that they came in and answered pretty quickly.

You're silly. In that thread the DEVs were teasing people about not knowing where it was. Still awesome.

There's been a couple threads.  First someone asked where the item dropped to begin with and a dev came in and gave hints, then I remember another thread asking about something else that they answered.  I KNOW WHAT THE FUCK I'M TALKING ABOUT RJ DON'T YOU GIVE ME NO SASS!
