Not sure where I read it (could have been the other forums) but someone was looking for a Neverwinter Beta key. Well, here's how to get one fairly easily:

Meh.
I watched TotalBiscuit's dungeon run and I can't say that I'm excited.  It just looks dull.

My favorite part was where the Cryptic guy tried to distinguish it from DDO by emphasizing Neverwinter's action-RPG playstyle.

ikr, later on in the game they discuss how when you make an attack you are locked in place for the animatiion sequence. I do like the AoE marker areas. Also casters look neutered, 5 hot keys??? wtf

The AOE marker seems like something cribbed directly from GW2, but admittedly I don't know how many other MMOs use a similar mechanic.

Relatively few hotkeys seems to be the new thing with MMOs. I can understand the desire to get away from the gazillion-hotbar problem that many MMOs have, but it seems like they are going too far in the other direction (incidentally, also something that I'm not terribly keen on with GW2).

Did I see somewhere in the middle a fucking cutscene as dialogue ?

I'm tired of fucking cutscenes that just actually cut the play as they takes long to fucking load.

anyway overall it doesn't look good... the little sparks on the ground in case you get lost, the limited options ( come on 5 buttons ? ) added to 4th Ed... looks not good, I'll still look at it, just in case, but I'm already filled with doubt it is going to replace DDO.
Even the way the guy moves... he look like an ape moving that way... even the DDO Halfling are not that ape like.

Yeah.  Completely F2P means I'll definitely give it a shot once it's released, but I'm not expecting much at all.
ESO is the one that's been on my watch list, and the more I see the more excited I get.
Stuff like this and this and this and this .

Wow.. I can't say I thought it would be a good game but it looks at least a generic and awful as DDO did at launch. Maybe in 3 or 4 years it will be worth playing like ddo ended up being

Frankly it looks worse... and they won't be able to relaunch the game in 3 years with a F2P scheme as it's already F2P.

OK, so the solo play doesn't look quite as terrible as that dungeon run looked,  but it still doesn't look great by any means.
And LOL at level 4 less than 6 minutes into the game. No real threat. A healing potion healed him to full, blah blah blaaaah.
As I said before, completely f2p means I'll at least give it a shot at some point after release, but I'm not expecting this to become a time sink at all.

Here's another one from someone else. It's about two hours long. I'm only about 30 minutes in so I don't have an opinion on the vid yet, but it seems to be a bit more well rounded regarding features.

edit: OK, so after 15 more minutes of them screwing around and gathering party and whatnot (with some technical difficulties due to the beta) they are apparently doing the same dungeon run as the TB vid, so I'm not going to continue watching.  But that first 30 minutes might be worth it just for the extra discussion of some of the features that's in those 30 minutes.

WTF ? is that tiefling with the long ears and the tail ? looks like a kitty to me.

And fucking cutscenes when you interract with NPCs. I hate fucking cutscenes that's what drove me away from NWN2.

Why so negative, Flav?

Wait a sec... cut scene:

> Azog turned to Flav, and threw dramatically his scarf over the shoulder. He placed his hand at the chin,
in a hesitant gesture, as if he were pondering how to word the feelings inside his heart. "Flav"-his voice was deep and full of shi..aahh...meaning-"your traumatic experiences in NWN2 are clouding your reasoning. Don´t you think it would be better to gain more experience about the game before wording such harsh words?". Flav twisted his face, in an internal fight with his personal french demons...<

How was it?

Bad, really bad.

I'm barely bearing the fucking cutscenes in SWOTOR because I play only once in a while...

Edit : By the way, any beta-tester in here to give us a non biased report ?

Pretty sure that the race depicted is a dragonborn.

Edit: Actually, yeah, it's a Tiefling. Pretty silly-looking from behind.

It's a Kitty with that long tail and the straight horns looking like manga type kitty ears.

I tell you it's a Kitty. It will go purring everywhere.

Ha what would clerics do at all then? Its 4th edition so everyone has healing surges right? And someone already said they saw full heal pots. Sounds like "healing" classes are already worthless.

Currently true, they appear to be a ranged "class" as of right now.  In the video there was a close burst type effect though most of the attacks were ranged.

Also this video actually shows you stuff as opposed to just being a PR piece.

That is incorrect Healing Surges were a way to limit daily healing.

In addition, players could use a surge without a healer about once per combat referred to as an encounter.

Having heal pots that did easily fill up the people in the videos at least half way, would kill off needing a dedicated healer, but is that a bad thing?  Do you feel you need someone to follow you around already in DDO?  So, clerics in NW will be able to do other things other than make sure the Fighter doesn't have a boo boo.  How terrible.
