Shadowfell Conspiracy will have more than just new quests and regions, we will also be raising the level cap to 28 and providing something often requested by fans: faster access to the Forgotten Realms! With a new prestige character feature we are calling Iconic Heroes; we think we have an innovative solution that will get you right into the Forgotten Realms starting at level 15. Each of these Forgotten Realms born characters will start as a race class combination with new racial abilities. I can’t wait to tell you more about these characters in the coming months.

Also... adding TR feature to Epic Levels.

Agreed. After the Whoopie Cushion that was MotU - I can't quite dredge up the good vibes I had last year when they said expansion.

Still, we get Owlbears at last. Granted, they'll probably be implemented as badly as Mimics... but hey. Fucking' Owlbears.

I'm not going to pre-order this unless it comes with something ridiculous like a re-usable leveling stone.

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.

I wonder how they will handle those levels this time.  They made it way to easy to level to 25.

I think this can be pretty much applied across the board.  I also wonder if this is just a new way to pump money from ViP's.  6 years with no paid for expansions prior to MoTU.  Every update was free.  We all bought into MoTU because it was a big update and they had never charged for one.  Is this new expansion big enough?  or are they just making what would have been a free update or two into an expansion to milk ViP's?  Is DDO going from 6+ updates a year to 4 and an expansion?  Is that really a win?

Also, focusing on getting level 15 characters into FR seems like the same mistake of MoTU.  Are they going to neglect end game for this?

It seems to me that the level 15 characters into FR is actually allowing you to make a level 15 character that starts in FR, not starting in Eberron at all.

That would be interesting.  I don't see why they would do it though.  It would virtually eliminate all sales of old packs.

Hugely increased requirements per level combined with XP debt on death would be highly amusing.

people don't give a fuck about Eberon, more D&D nerds like FR.

it's a gateway drug, a hit off the crackpipe.  if they like what they experience they'll TR and/or start other toons.

Does it include fixing all the broken things ?
Does it include getting a new item designer that will make items that don't suck soo much that random loot is better ?
Does it include a no bug reported in preview/lambada make it to live policy ?

It's probably because they don't want you running the old stiff in Eberron any more I understand that they need to expand on FR more, but since MOTU, the only new quest Eberron's gotten is The Fall of Truth.

Call me paranoid, but outside of that, the focus is clear.

Until you TR and have to buy the old packs to get your character back to how powerful it was (or buy a stone to get to 16). It may be possible to get the XP from F2P content, but you'd mostly have to solo  that way.

Biggest mistake they made.  It changed the game for the worse.  Bad zerging and crappy play didn't take hold till after this came out.  When dying had a penalty, people played like a team or lost levels.

This is true especially with Neverwinter coming out.  It's getting mixed reviews but no one has really seen the end game stuff yet so the jury is out.  It looks like they implement crafting and skills more intelligently than DDO at least.

A near-sighted syphilitic great ape with short term memory problems could  implement crafting more intelligently then Turbine.

And design better loot to boot.

Yay another one.  No way I'm parting with another $75 for something that's rushed, bugged, and still not properly fixed 9months later.

Wonder what mechanic changes they'll shove down our throats this time too.

Hopefully the next one is more quest / raid and less explorer / npc orientated too.

The enhancement pass is actually a change to the 4e rule set.

Possibly...  from what I could tell though from PAX was that Glin and Big F work closely together.

Interested to hear what these epic TR features will be.  Hopefully it won't mean having to do more full 1-20 TRs as I've had more than my fill of those.

I doubt the enhancement pass will be tied to the expansion as that would imply that it would be an optional feature.  My understanding is that it's not.  They're removing enhancements as they currently are and replacing them with this new system.  I can't see how it would be something you have to pay for.  The new levels and epic TR abilities though, sure.
