I'm looking in the General DDO Discussion forum and I don't see Cripey's thread at all.  Also, the thread link just goes to the general forums and not to the thread itself.

Looks like it may have been nuked already.

I want to know what the ribbons actually do.  I'll wear one if it gives a bonus to UMD and doesn't take a gear slot.

Yes, I am a whore.

Pope. try reading the page they posted doofus Tongue

About The One Fund Memorial Ribbon:  Raise awareness of The One Fun charity that was formed to help those affected by the tragedy at the Boston Marathon.  When used from your inventory in game, this item will display a blue and yellow striped ribbon over your character's shoulder until you log out. The ribbon has unlimited uses and is tradable to your friends.

It's purely cosmetic

I read it, but it didn't say what the ribbon did.  If it doesn't actually do anything, then I don't understand the point of it.  I also don't understand the point of putting ribbons on your car, either, so I suppose that might also be my own failing and not a problem with Turbine.

Dont give to the One Fund.  If buy from Boston stores based in the Copley area, Prudential, Back Bay, Newberry St ect...

The money from the fund is run by the mayor of Boston (6 term idiot.  Literately an idiot, listen to his interviews. Greedy Boston politics) and the Governor of Mass.  Together they have budgets of $40 billion+ annually. The $20 million + is not going to be well spent, or in a timely manner.

To show you "care" about something without having to actually do anything about it.

Ive looked more into the fund as more info comes out, and it seems like they are talking about just writing checks to the individuals (or families in the case of deaths) Nothing firm has been stated, so donate at your own risk.

I would love to see you appeal via Customer Service (the call-in line) and explain that you genuinely do not see how asking that question is trolling...

One thing for everyone who is a "skeptic" on this issue: Insurance companies are basing their underwriting on the assumption that it is real. They are refusing to write policies on homes that are likely to be in danger from rising seas 20 years from now, even though the resale rate of the homes is so high that they could keep writing policies for another 10 years and still not have to pay out on 1 policy in 5, but that would be irresponsible. Unethical, as well, but that's never stopped anyone before.
