Right...and capping out in a week or less is really fun too...

man we are 48 hours into the beta. there will be more levels. and also capping your toon doesnt matter cos you will allways have new content to play thanks to foundry. also you can get some nice rewards from pvp which is fun.

And I can get the entirety of the game for free buy farming loot that other people are too lazy/unlucky/busy to farm themselves.

NW is completely free, all content all classes/races including the ones that are not released yet. unlike ddo that after lvl 12 or so you have to spend money to continiue playing, unless of course you are some kind of burnt out person tha enjoyes grinding the same retarded quests x1000

yeah right, now go spam ddo forums with funny cute pics so kids can rep you nab.

Ah, but why travel when you have such a scintillating example of sub-par kindergarten intellect to toy with right here?

You get 4 class options (unless you count Guardian Fighter and Greatsword Fighter as separate classes).  That's not boring.  The same 4 from my Basic D&D red box in 1978.  Wow.  Cool.

You think 4.0 D&D is going to be better than 3.5?  Even bastardized, MMO-ized 3.5 like DDO has?

You think Neverwinter won't eventually run into balance and scaling and power creep issues like every MMO ever?  You think they won't ever nerf something or have lag or have a bug?

Wake up.  Or just wait until something else new and shiny distracts you.   Squirrel!

My heart only bleeds for my girlfriends, its my anus that bleeds due to ddo.
And yes, i admit i was a fanboy once, long before spell pass.
but with all those changes that came and most importantly the faerun rip-off and the pay to win that followed i started to change my mind...

Btw NW has 5 classes atm (3 days into beta, remember) and warlock is about to be released these days and prolly ranger after that.
Races are more than what DDO had at its launch..
human, elf, dwarf,half-elf, half-orc , tiefling and halfling.

I was referring to the 4 human classes/d&D archteypes.  That basic D&D treated races as classes is an obvious flaw and a sample of the over simplicity in the gaming system that caused most people to migrate from D&D to Ad&D pretty quickly.

Neverwinter is coming out pretty low on class/race options.  This simplicity is not appealing to me.  The combat system, while addressing annoyances such as kiting and jump-casting, is also not a plus.  The 4th edition focus is also a shame.  I'd rather have feats, enhancements and PrE's than to have at-will, encounter, and daily powers.

I'd rather roll up a new character in DDO (or TR an existing one and try a new build) than start a new character in a game with that few of options.  But, more power to you, Amsterdamaged.  I hope you enjoy the new game and have a ton of fun.

That's not relevant.  NW isn't competing with DDO from 2006.  It's competing with DDO today.

I agree with your first statement and of course , i also would like to have a game more coplex that NW but unfortunatly ddo isnt that game because as i said at some posts on the frist page ddo might seem to offer a lot of choices but in reallity the builds can be min maxed. also as some other poster said only noobs make builds out of the ordinary, and they get a lot of grief in game..

Yeah, I really wish DDO would have some kind of guild system or have a lot of content that just about anyone could solo. Making you group with strangers in order to have a healer/tank/control wizard/nuker is just crazy.

As far as 4th edition vs 3.x it doesnt really matters to me as long as the game is good. Of course the ideal for me would be AD&D with all its classes and kits because 3rd edition sucks for reasons i mentioned to one of my post yesterday.

Everything (including the 5 man dungeons) can be soloed in NW too so none makes you group. Also the holy trinity is not true for NW cos none needs to heal you and none needs to tank. exactly like ddo.

Would the fact I still long for 2.5 indicate I have "get off my lawn" issues?

English is not my primary language so sorry if i misunderstood what you say.
No, its perfecty normal to long for a true old school dungeons and dragons game.. Every gamer with sweet memories from this setting does that   Smiley (by saying ad&d i was reffering to 2.5)

While DDO has more customization and a better combat system imo, I still haven't found any ladder I couldn't climb in NWO.

NWO is a better game.
