I just started the .Hack Series (first one).

Hard game if you aren't paying attention, but it's like playing an MMO, only it's a console game. Really weird and very Japanese.

This coming from the JeepBoat Man?

It's honestly pretty cool. It feels more immersive than other games I've played, especially with the Board and Mailer things. I'm not very far in, but I do know that I like it already, though it is a bit on the hard side of the learning curve.

Before Neverwinter, I was playing Alice: Madness Returns, a psychotic Alice in Wonderland game and a sequel to American Magee's Alice. I thought it was pretty fun and very wierd.

I got mine through Steam, but it's available for PS3 and Xbox 360. Consoles also get a download code for the original game as well.

If you like JRPGs, Ni No Kuni is fun, as long as you keep the Japanese voices and use English subtitles.  The English voice acting is pretty bad.

This is a fairly strong trend.  Fortunately, there are exceptions, which leads me to a recommendation:
Makai Kingdom, but only if you can tolerate Nippon Ichi games (grindy, turn-based strategy RPGs).

It's pretty hard to find this for a decent price in my area. I do wanna get it though. My local game shop got a collector's edition in for like $300 though lol.
