lol to top Rest a bit

My warchanter elven bard who swung greataxes was given the sword of shadows 3 years ago as a joke (since back then it no one knew Vons was going to go epic or how awesome it would be). Guild mate just passed it to me as a gag on the fact that I made an elven warchanter two handed fighter.

Then got the scroll after a few Evons 3 runs, the seal dropped after my 10 run and the shard soon after.  So not only was it not a horror story for me, there is a guild mate still kicking himself for his "gag" on me Smiley And a happy little elf war chanter with a epic sos who I don't even log on with much anymore.

*embraces for the hate* lol

It actually isn't very many, but I have about 60 runs across several toons over the last year, and seen it drop once.

I have long since given up on pulling the SOS shard (even though my main has everything else he needs, including base item)

I have 0, around 250 runs, and I've completely given up hope of ever getting one.  I hardly bother running the raid anymore unless I'm needed to heal a guild run or some such.  And of course if I mention it, some smug asshole like my guild leader starts linking his eSOS and talking about how he's running the raid for his 4th or 5th shard to give to some shitty mule alt that he hasn't played since before the Shroud was released.

I put two up for roll in my <20 runs of EVoN.

200-300 runs.

I pulled two shards.  One was bag-bug traded and the other is on my Horc warchanter (Manhorc).

Save your sanity, get a cleaver or go TWFing.

got the shard after about my 30th run. I was on my cleric, you know the hjealbot type that barely gets above 20 damage per swing.

Oh the howls and cries of the Barbs and Fighters when I took it echoed throughout the Plane of Night... their tears were delicious  Grin

Doofuses. They are BTA for a reason.

I gave up on one a long time ago. The only toon with a base item even is a TWFing melee bard.... And too many at level runs on the toon I did want it on where dingbats took the base item just to have it in their bank.

I have one shard sitting in a bag, doing nothing.

My other one took me ~30 runs to get.

I ran less than 100 runs to get both...and I'm probably not using the second one.  >_>

Edit: BTW, the eSoS I do have is generally unused except for bosses, giving my preference to Cleaver.

I'm still waiting for mine to drop...
It dropped once already in one of my many runs... I didn't win the roll.

You should trade it away. Maybe you'll get something awesome for it.

I'm easily over 200 runs looking for that piece of shit.  I run it for XP and fun and the off chance I get one.  I really like VoN.  But that drop rate is bullshit.

I've done about 1000 runs now.

In that time i've managed to pull 6 sos shards, 8 red dragon shards, and 0 boots shards.

Well as far as the SOS Shard goes I think across 5 characters it is about 70 Epic Runs

In that time I've pulled 4 Swords of Shadows but not one on the Melee character I would like it on.  Of the 4 I kept only one (on my FvS) the other 3 went to making 3 melee types very happy.

My melee character seems to have the same luck many caster types have with Torc from DQ.  Even multiple 20 lists still doesn't help as he has been hunting one since the Raid first opened.

I have a Torc on every toon. None of them took more than 20 runs, most less - fighter and former-rogue just took them 'cause why not. I have 2 eTorcs plus 3 Torc shards sitting around waiting for me to care enough to farm seals.

Never even seen a SOS shard in a couple hundred runs, but luckily with Cleaver I don't have to care anymore.

Yeah Torc has been easy for me too.   I've pulled that reliably for any toons that wanted one or gotten lucky on rolls.  Madstone boots, on the other hand, were the devil for me.  Went 85 runs on one melee.  60 on another.  Couldn't roll for shit either.  And, since it's a clicky, non-exclusive, some folks were looting 2nd or 3rd pairs rather than putting them up for roll.

The eSoS was the straw (well, bale of hay) that broke the backbone of my love for 'The broken game formally known as DDO'. I spent two months exclusively farming for components, nothing else. At the end of that two months, I didn't have a single ingredient and the eSoS was nerfed.

It was at that point that I realized 'The broken game formally known as DDO' had become an epic grindfest. I came back once for the cove exploit but haven't been back since.

Strangely enough, I have all the pieces for an eSOS except the base item, mainly because I have noone who would use one at this time... Smiley
